Happy Monday from our beautiful Riley😘

Did you know that black cats are often the last to be adopted from rescues😔 Some people still associate them with bad luck, while others find they are harder to photograph🤔
Whereas in a lot of cultures, black cats are actually considered lucky, and a sign of good fortune🙏
And in Japan, black cats are seen as romantic good luck charms for single women😉

There’s also evidence that black cats may have certain genetic mutations that make them less susceptible to some diseases🖤

From our point of view, all felines deserve a happy and loved life, so no matter their coat colour, we love them all🥰

Mr Grey Tom (presumed Bandit's dad), was trapped this week and went in for desex, vaccination and a flea and worm yesterday🩶

Many don't realize how important it is to neuter males, not only to help control the feline population, but to prevent testicular cancer and reduce the risk of prostate problems, as well as combating behaviors such as roaming, spraying, and aggression, leading to cat fights.

Mr Grey is currently in the care of TKO so we can assess if he does in fact want to be a house cat, but if he doesn't, he has a beautiful big property to go back too with wonderful people watching over him and letting him live his best farm life🙏

During winter we are looking at multiple TNR projects and unfortunately we currently don't have even a quarter of the traps we did😕

Introducing Oscar Piastri🧡

This young man became part of the TKO family yesterday after being presumed a "stray", and handed into the wonderful Te Puke Vets.
Not desexed or microchipped, nervous of people, covered in fleas, and very skinny🥺
But after being shown some calm love, listen to that beautiful purr already🥹

During the cooler months when thankfully, not as many kittens are being born, the faces we see coming into care, are a little more nervous🫶
They are not necessarily your confident, brave, all-rounders that we see in the warmer months, when there is an overload of unwanted litters coming in the doors daily💔
These more cautious souls take time, patience and gentle reassurance🥹 But they will flourish, they will grow into affectionate, loving, trusting and loyal companions💖
If you've ever gained the trust of a timid cat, you'll know they are worth the wait🥰
If you are looking to adopt, please don't overlook the shy ones, they will be forever grateful... in time x

And another recent TKO addition is Mr Bandit here🫶
This little guy turned up on someones deck, seemingly taking shelter and looking for help. Too terrified to let anyone close however, a trap was set, and he was quickly safe in a foster home❤️

Bandit is proving quite the computer enthusiast, and is realizing he doesn't actually mind his foster humans😊

Rocket: 3, 2, 1, BLAST OFF!😍 - NOW ADOPTED!

Here he comes, and there he goes! Rocket is a courageous and incredibly playful boy with a lot of love to give💝
Tussling with cats thrice his size is barely a challenge for Rocket😉
Plenty of cool toys are a *MUST* as Rocket is easily excitable, and will tackle your arms and ankles to get your attention otherwise😆
But what goes up must come down. After tiring him out with a cat-toy, Rocket loves to get up close and personal when it comes to cuddles, and enjoys laying in your arms, upon a shoulder, or pressed up against your face🥰
Rocket is a great all-rounder, perfect for most families looking for a gorgeous forever addition😘

If you are looking for a slightly older kitten, who is full of beans, bounce and energy, then here she is!🥰 - NOW ADOPTED!

The beautiful Lace is almost 9 months old and is a pure delight💖 Lace's foster mum has given her the nickname GG, which stands for "Goodest Girl". Why? Because she's good at everything!☺️ She's good at having chitter chatter conversations, good at cuddles, good at using the litter box, good at playing with utmost enthusiasm, and good at head bunting🥹 In fact Lace would love to join a family that will help her continue her training for the Head Bunting Olympics😘

Lace adores being part of the family, and especially enjoys hanging out with the in-house doggo and cats🐕🐈‍⬛
