𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗟𝗦 | 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝘆!
The Interschools are a-coming! We’re counting down just under four weeks till one of the largest events on our calendar, the Taupō Equestrian Supplies North Island Secondary Schools Equestrian Cup AND the South Island Secondary Schools Equestrian Cup held concurrently at our NECs. Events like this don’t happen without the support of committed sponsors, many of whom are returning again this year. Taupō Equestrian Supplies is the naming rights holder for the North Island after supporting the event for the past two years. A long-time sponsor, last year the retailer supported the veterinary services that enabled us to run safely co-ordinated competitions. Taupō Equestrian Supplies is the largest equestrian retail store in the Central Plateau area is a family-owned and operated business that offers nationwide shipping and has a huge selection of horse gear, rugs, rider wear, safety products, pet products, horse feed, supplements and more. If you’re coming to the Fiber Fresh NEC in Taupō between 30 August and 3 September, they will be hosting a hospitality venue in the indoor arena, offering a perfect platform to watch the action across the competition week.

One event. One cause. One incredible community.

At NEC Taupō, we host many events throughout the year, but there is only one charity event on our calendar – the Bayleys Sheep Dog Trials.
We are incredibly proud to provide our venue in support of this amazing event, helping raise vital funds for the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter – a service that is there for our community when it matters most.
This year, an outstanding $35,669.00 was raised, bringing the total raised over the past four years to more than $110,000. An extraordinary achievement made possible by the organisers, competitors, sponsors, volunteers and everyone who attended.
A huge congratulations and thank you to David Schaw, Bayleys, all the sponsors, volunteers and supporters who make this event such a success. It is an honour for NEC Taupō to play a part in something that gives so much back to our community.

Counting down to the Interschools just 6 weeks away and we're looking for friendly, knowledgeable members of our equestrian community to help support riders, families and schools at the events in Taupō and Christchurch. Our ambassadors play an important role in creating a positive experience for everyone involved - helping answer questions, offering encouragement, sharing knowledge, and supporting students who may need a little extra confidence or guidance during the event.
Do you have a strong understanding of your discipline and are you well established within the sport? just as importantly, are you approachable, positive, and enjoy helping others? Great ambassadors are generous with their knowledge, communicate well, and are passionate about encouraging the next generation of riders. We're particularly looking for 𝗝𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 and 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 ambassadors for the 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 Cup event in Christchurch (30 August – 4 September), and we're also seeking one additional 𝗝𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 ambassador for the 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 Cup event in Taupō (30 August – 3 September). This is a great opportunity to be involved in one of our biggest community events, connect with riders and families, and help foster the supportive, welcoming culture we want to see across our sport.
Ambassadors receive support with accommodation and meals, and we also provide opportunities for exposure through our ESNZ social media channels.

NEC Taupo is open for Casual users this weekend
Please only use open outside yards
• Only bring horses not showing any clinical signs.
• Only stable horses together that have travelled together. At least 2 stable gap between groups.
• Special attention to sharing equipment and horse contact when out in the field.
• Good muck-out with removal of all organic material.

Although there are currently no concerns at NEC Taupō, we believe that good biosecurity is everyone's responsibility and that taking sensible precautions helps protect our horses and our equestrian community.

We are mindful of the Strangles outbreak in the Waikato region which, at this stage, appears to be contained within the TB Racing/Training facilities.

There are no major events planned at the Fiber Fresh NEC Taupō, however advice from ESNZ Veterinary General Tony Parsons for anyone travelling is:

• Only bring horses not showing any clinical signs.
• Only stable horses together that have travelled together. At least 2 stable gap between groups.
• Special attention to sharing equipment and horse contact when out in the field.
• Good muck-out with removal of all organic material.

Although there are currently no concerns at NEC Taupō, we believe that good biosecurity is everyone's responsibility and that taking sensible precautions helps protect our horses and our equestrian community.

We also encourage competitors and visitors to continue practising good hygiene and biosecurity measures throughout their stay.
