Pet of the month - August -

❄️ Winter ❄️

Since we’ve been featuring a few of our Thursday gangs in recent Pet of the Month articles, we thought it was time to shine the spotlight on one special girl — and before Spring comes along, we’ve selected Winter✨

Winter is a 3.5-year-old Pointer x Vizsla who has been coming to daycare for quite a while now and is a regular member of our squad.

Winter’s dog mum, Willow, and her dog brothers, Jager and Milo, were also part of our daycare family back when we were doing the Hawera pick-ups. While they are all related, they each have very different personalities ☺️

When it comes to socialising, Winter is right up there at the top of the scale. She gets along brilliantly with dogs of all sizes, shapes and energy levels, making friends with literally everyone.

She also does a fantastic job of teaching younger dogs some good doggy manners when they get a little too enthusiastic.

Her mom told us she is being a great mom/sister to their foster kittens at home, and turns into a baby girl with her human brother Zac, proving there is no role she can’t play.

In fact, if we could clone Winter, we probably would! We could use a couple of Winters to entertain some of the dogs we sometimes struggle to find the perfect match for. Yes, she is that great 😄

Being social and photogenic, she is often featured on our Facebook posts. You may have seen her “spin” when she gets excited - there are a few vizsla dogs do the spin, so we take it as their thing. It always gives us a good laugh.

Although she looks like a dog with endless energy, she enjoys sitting next to us and relaxing on the deck in between the play sessions, especially in the afternoon when things start to wind down. Meaning that she is another doggy that has a wonderfully balanced day of play and rest throughout the day.

Your existence is essential and much appreciated by our doggies and by us, Winter. We look forward to capturing many more happy moments of you 💜
