*Broodmare Appreciation Post*
Our beautiful foundation throughbred mare Smitten has weaned her last foal and is now officially retired. She had two foals before joining us at Whiterocks and has gone on to have 6 stunning foals for us. 3 c**ts and 3 filllies, 4 bays, 1 chestnut and 1 black. The sweetest girl herself and the best mum. Her foals were all exquisite and inherited her love of people and high energy work ethic. Thankfully we have retained her daughter Fanfaire as a very valuable replacement for her mother. She has big shoes to fill.
Enjoy your retirement darling Smits.

Whiterocks Cadence has been weaned and has already headed off to her new home in Christchurch. She has a very excited new owner who tells me Cadence is her dream horse and she can't believe she was able to purchase her. So that's pretty much breeder goals right there. Making dreams come true with our beautiful horses!

So much 🌧️ in North Otago with flooding and roads closed last week. We are on a hill so luckily no flooding for us but has turned our dry winter into a very wet winter very quickly. Our herd are now on adlib haylage and in sheltered sacrifice paddocks.

Nearly time for second round of weaning for us and for the first time we have a broodmare in foal available for sale. Lovely Sabrina has given us 4 beautiful foals and with one of her fillies in the paddock as a keeper it is time for her to be enjoyed by another family. Even better she is in foal to SP Blue Eyed Ghost, due early Dec for a guaranteed palomino pure warmblood foal. Gorgeous Ghost has only limited availability at stud these days so this is a rare opportunity to get a ghost baby. Please contact us if you think Sabrina could be a fit for your family.

Our starry rising 2 year old Whiterocks Cessna has sold and headed off to her new home today. She is going to a professional yard where the plan is to produce her as a high level eventing prospect. It's going to be very exciting watching her journey. Congratulations to her new owner.

Weaning is a drawn out affair this year at Whiterocks. Blueprint our early October c**t has already been weaned and headed off to his new home in far off Taranaki. He has landed on his feet, his new owner adores him and is planning to produce him for showing and as an all rounder.

It was very exciting on Friday to welcome a new Iveco Daily truck. It is bigger and better than our old faithful Hino and is a pretty momentous upgrade for us. It means we will continuing to be offering deliveries of horse feed including our hay and haylage as well as expanding the transport side of the business. We have been carting all sorts of vehicles and goods around the lower half of the South Island.
