Sass is an athletic and bold jumper. She has a big stride and makes the distances in combinations and down lines easily. My older sister produced Sass and competed with her up to 1.15m in Northland. She has been with me since November as my sister no longer had time to keep her in work. Sass has only been lightly competed and has far from reached her full potential!

She is very easy-going and quiet at home, becoming more excitable at shows. She would be best suited to a capable rider wanting a quality horse to continue to produce through the grades, particularly for a capable junior or young rider. She has an excellent jumping technique, and floats over fences with her back end.

Sass is very pleasant to be around - she is very affectionate and loves cuddles! She is good to shoe, truck, float, worm, hack out, either alone or in company.

Horse of the Year is always a season highlight. Although this show was a bit quieter for us, with only Mat competing on his two horses, they did not disappoint!

Mat was also placed Second in the Nationwide Cup, for the rider with the most jumping points over the week which was a nice touch to finish our season.

2025 is well underway!

Cornet Indiana🌹
Mat took his two horses to the Auckland Show Jumping before Christmas, where Indy had a great win in the Mini Prix. She jumped lovely clear rounds in the 1.25m and 1.30m at Dannevirke and picked up a fourth in the Mini Prix at Taranaki.

Fernando CSNZ✨
Nando finished 3rd in the Grand Prix at Auckland, 2nd in the Mini Prix at Dannevirke, and 4th in the Grand Prix at Taranaki. It has been fantastic for Nando, as he's gaining valuable experience at the Grand Prix level.

Punky🌸
Our beautiful 5-year-old homebred mare had her second show start at Taranaki, gaining experience over 70–80cm courses. She even picked up her first ever red ribbon in the 70cm class - Mat’s proudest moment of the season!

Fleurette💋
Penny started at Dannevirke and Taranaki. She jumped three 1.10m rounds over the three days at Dannevirke, and two 1.10m rounds and her first 1.15m round at Taranaki, completing all six rounds clear and managed to get a ribbon at each show!

Balboa NZPH💕
He jumped lovely clear and speedy rounds at Dannevirke, bringing home the win in both his classes: the 1.30m and the 1.35–1.40m Mini Prix.

Sardana🌼
Sardana was clear in both of her 95cm classes at Taranaki, picking up a third place on Sunday!

🎉Dunstan Riders | Mid Season Highlights🎉

MATHEW & NAKEYSHA DICKEY

They've had a great start to the season with:
- ‘Balboa NZPH' winning two Grand Prix’s and placing 2nd in another.
- ‘Cornet Indiana' and 'Fernando CSNZ' have both had their first Grand Prix starts this season, picking up 3rd, 4th and 5th places.

They have some awesome young horse coming through including:
- ‘Flamenco CSNZ' who has produced some lovely rounds, picking up good placings at the 1.20 – 1.35m level, including winning the Pro-Am at Woodhill Sands earlier in the season.
- ‘Fleurette' is also coming along nicely, producing some great rounds, and progressing through the grades.

A good start to the season for our 10-year-old gelding Flamenco, who had his first big win in the Pro-Am and a 5th place in the 1.30-1.35m at Woodhill Sands a few weekends ago, followed by a second place in the 1.20m at Foxton.

TEAM DUNSTAN | Matt & Nakeysha Dickey

Nakeysha & Matt who run Dickey Stables, a boutique Show Jumping yard in Taranaki, have been long supporters of Dunstan Horsefeeds. Nakeysha began her equine journey at the age of five, inspired by her mother’s love for horses. Matt's early story is of a similar one, growing up with a family immersed in the Equestrian scene.

Nakeysha is looking forward to the season starting to progress her scopey and athletic horse, Flamenco. While Matt is excited to get out and about on his "big unit" Fernando CSNZ.

🥦 Team Dickeys Top Feeding Tip:
Feeding horses small but often meals as this aligns with their natural grazing behaviour and supports optimal digestion and nutrient absorption.

And remember to check in with your horse diet nutritionist at least once a year, or if you notice behavioural changes in your horse. You only get out what you put in! "Dunstan has Gretel Webber who is very knowledgable and always eager to help!"

A season favourite, the Takapoto Classic. The horses all jumped super and had some good results.

Cornet Indiana (Indy)
Indy continues to impress and is tackling the bigger jumps with ease. She finished 5th in the 7YO Qualifier, 2nd in the Corporate Teams event, and jumped super in the 7YO Final but had an unlucky rail at the last fence.

Fernando CSNZ (Nando)
Didn’t pick up any ribbons but jumped super in the Silver Tour Qualifier 1 for one down. Nando is still green at this level, so it was a great experience for him.

Flamenco (Mango)
Mango jumped a lovely clear in his warmup class. Unfortunately, he did not qualify for the Silver Tour Final, but the improvement from qualifier 1 to qualifier 2 was significant and he continues to improve with more mileage. He then finished the week off with a lovely clear in the 1.20m on Saturday for 2nd.

Balboa NZPH (Rocky)
It was super exciting having our little superstar back on the truck. Rocky was very excited to be back out competing and jumped sensationally in all his classes. A rider error down the final line in the Silver Tour Final resulted in the last fence coming down, placing them 6th.

Thank you to the Plaw family, Kerry Willetts and Takapoto Estate Show Jumping for putting on and running an outstanding show. We are looking forward to next year already!
