Another day, another job for my Heiniger Opal clippers

One thing I genuinely love about the Opals is how versatile they are. They’re not just brilliant for body clipping they’re also perfect for those smaller precision jobs around the stable and clinic too.

Today they were helping me prep for taking bloods, and once again they were quiet, fast, sharp, and incredibly smooth to use. The low noise and vibration make such a difference, especially with sensitive horses, and the cordless freedom is a game changer when you’re working around yards and stables.

Good quality gear makes all the difference, and these clippers have definitely earned their place in my kit for multiple jobs — not just grooming.

⚠️ Please note: taking bloods should only be carried out by qualified professionals or experienced handlers under veterinary guidance. I’m a qualified vet nurse and have performed this procedure many times. This post is simply showcasing another practical use for the clippers.

The owner said a small amount off the bottom half so that’s what Cash got! A custom cut made easy and possible with Heiniger clippers and what a difference the cleanse shampoo makes!

This clip will keep the sweat from staying longer in the areas that are clipped to keep Cash from catching a chill while still keeping her warm enough with the remaining hair on 😁

Pre-clip bath day on Wednesday and it got me thinking… what shampoo is everyone using before clipping their horses? 👀

I swear by Heiniger Cleanse honestly a total game changer for pre-clip prep. It gets rid of all the dirt, sweat and build-up without stripping the coat, leaves them shiny and healthy looking, and makes clipping SO much smoother and easier. Less drag through the coat = happier clippers and a happier clipper operator too !!

Plus, the blades glide through beautifully and you end up with a much cleaner, more even finish. Definitely one of those products that makes you wonder why you ever clipped a dirty horse in the first place 😂

A clean horse, sharp blades, and good shampoo… half the clipping battle is already won ✂️🐴

Just arrived this morning and first impressions are Tough, strong and look built for real farm work.

Can already tell these will be handy for everything from my work with the horses, fencing to yard work and I reckon they’d be perfect for shearers to throw on after a long day in heavy gear too.

There really is nothing better than gear that’s made for rural life!

Since welcoming our wee girl Madeleine on the 11th of April, things have been going well at home and we’re looking forward to getting back into the swing of things soon, this two children thing is a new ball game! The horses are all looking great, with weaning and branding of the weanlings coming up at the end of the month.

Meanwhile, these two have been hard at work helping with the farrier … although from the looks of it, the foal might be the one supervising 🤠

So excited to be back on board with Heiniger Equine - Australia & New Zealand for another year 🤍

There’s been a lot of change in my world lately, but I’m incredibly grateful to continue working with a brand that supports both my riding and our breeding business.

While I’ll be taking a short break from show jumping as we welcome baby number two, I’m looking forward to being back in the saddle in the coming months. In the meantime, the Progroom range will be getting plenty of use behind the scenes, helping us present our thoroughbreds at their absolute best as we prepare for the road to Karaka 2027.

Proud to represent a brand that keeps our horses looking and smelling their best, whether in the ring or in the sale prep barn 🖤

Last week really was full of highs and lows for us here. We sadly lost our Tarzino c**t foal, but we also welcomed a strong and thriving Noverre c**t who’s doing very, very well.

And to start this week on a high note this morning we scanned Hardassah, and she’s in foal to Hilal ! A positive pregnancy check and a very exciting result for us. 💕🐴

Also over the weekend Grace my golden retriever had her puppies 9 of them! 5girls and 4boys babies and mun doing super, so busy on the farm but we wouldn’t have it any other way 🥰
