Tomorrow we head to Wellington Racing Club with ZA SPIRIT fresh up for her summer campaign, the old girl is bright and well and will need the run, but she’s honest as the day is long and will benefit from the run. Kavish takes the reins and the old girl will do the rest!

PALMAROW gets a well deserved win under a great ride from Kelly Myers. The owners and connections have been supportive of the stable since the early days and their patience has been rewarded. Thanks to everyone involved!

The stable has three runners at the home track tomorrow.

🏇 CANSHEWIN has her first start for us after arriving from up north. She's had a few jump-outs and a trial since joining us and appears to want ground but we will kick off in the 1600m Maiden (Race 2) and use it as a run for us to get a line on her.

🏇 PALMAROW is on the quick back up in the Rating 65 Fillies & Mares 1600m (Race 3). Nothing went right last start so it's back to the drawing board and if all goes to plan she's a winning chance for sure with the addition of blinkers.

🏇 DOJAKATA will be out of her rating band in the Rating 75 2000m (Race 7). We are mainly looking for a run between her win and potential next start at Hawera, but she's honest, she's fit and with what looks like a lot of early speed the maori warden should be getting home well!

The stable has one runner at each of the Central Districts meetings over the weekend.

🏇 Kicking off on Saturday where PALMAROW heads to Ōtaki-Māori Racing Club and lines up in Race 4.

Stepping back up to 1400m with Lemmy Douglas aboard, Parker was super last start over 1200m after a short break and hopefully with an improved track she should be right in the finish.

🏇 and then on Sunday ZACONIC kicks off her new campaign at Waverley Racing Club in Race 5, where she lines up in the Fillies & Mares 1650m Maiden with the services of Toni Davies.

Connie has been working well and had some sound jump-outs leading into this race. Whatever happens she will take improvement from the outing and we will look to get her up over ground in the next couple of starts.

So so proud of our maori warden DOJAKATA today! “Pat” has recently overcome surgery and so brave to come back to the races and into the winner’s circle at only her second start after her recovery. Thanks to Kavish for the great ride and congratulations and thanks to all connections.

Just the one runner tomorrow at Woodville-Pahiatua Racing Club, DOJAKATA steps back up to 2100m when she lines up in Race 5.

Pat’s last start was pleasing and she was hitting the line well over the shorter distance. Kavish Chowdhoory takes the reins again and the track conditions should suit.

Just the one runner heads to the Egmont Racing Club in Hawera for their feature meeting of the season:

🏇 Race 4, PALMAROW takes her spot in the Rating 65 1200m with Lemmy Douglas aboard. She’s fit and well after a little let up. The barrier draw is a bit of a hamper but we will be happy to see her running home strong for bigger targets in the summer.

Two runners head to Waverley Racing Club tomorrow.

🏇 Race 7 we have DOJAKATA, whose form has been a bit patchy at the moment and stepping back to 1650m isn’t ideal, there is not much option with the lack of mid week staying races. She will get back but we are hoping she gets home strong with Kavish Chowdhoory aboard.

🏇 Race 8 we have KITZAKAT, in the same boat with a lack of a suitable race but she is well and been very consistent this prep. With Jimmy Chung back in the saddle, she has drawn well and with the chance of a bit of rain will bring her right into it.

The stable has been a bit quite recently with JASPER being our last runner over 1550m at Cambridge because the 2000m was scrapped but as always there’s something happening in the background.

A few of the team headed to the Stratford jump-outs last Wednesday in preparation for the spring campaigns.

Newcomer to the stables CANSHEWIN was pleasing and looks to have settled in well to her new home running 2nd by a nostril over 1400m after 4 unplaced runs up north. This girl is a beautiful cut of a horse and being a half to very handy stayer Canheroc we are looking forward to stretching her over ground.

ZACONIC won her heat over 1000m leading all the way she’s another who looks set to be a nice stayer she’s come back a stronger horse this prep and with a little improvement in her coat and fitness we are looking forward to see if she kicks on with her placing last season.

PALMAROW was hard held in her heat and I was very pleased with her effort after a short let up of three weeks and she appears to be ready to race soon (possibly Hāwera depending on track conditions).

And finally, ZA SPIRIT, the stable queen, had a skip over 800m just to see where her fitness was and she showed her usual toughness and grit to finish second in her heat being a little underdone at this stage of her prep.
