First trip to the beach for Miss Zenni 🌊
Zen had her final vaccination yesterday at 16 weeks old, so we’re in that little in-between stage. Another 7 days and she’ll have the all clear to get out and explore the world properly.
This morning I weighed up the pros and cons of taking her out. Motion sickness is still a challenge, but the beach is only 10 minutes away and my vet gave me the green light to let her experience the waterline where the waves meet the sand.
So that’s exactly what we did.
I carried her from the Jeep straight to the shoreline, away from where other dogs might be. We spent 10 to 15 minutes simply taking it all in. The sound of the ocean. The waves rolling onto the sand. The seagulls flying overhead.
Nothing bothered her.
She watched the waves with curiosity, was fascinated by the seagulls, and took it all in beautifully.
When another dog appeared off lead, I picked her up straight away. Zenni had other ideas and desperately wanted to go and say hello, but for now her health and safety come first. Back to the Jeep, back into her crate, and home we went.
A short outing, but a valuable one.
For a puppy who has recently experienced international flights, kennels, long drives and a huge life change, these little adventures are all about building confidence, trust and positive experiences.
Today, the ocean was another tick on the list. ❤️
