Boy am I lucky I ate my weetbix this morning! Ruby girl is one of my biggest dogs and has a huge coat which requires A LOT of brushing out but the end result is a big cuddly teddy bear soft as a cloud 😍🐾

As groomers, we know things.

We know dogs, we know their behaviour, we know their needs.

We know when their curled in nails weren't just done at the vets last week as we were told.

We know their matting wasn't just caused over the last few days when they had a dog sitter who hadn't brushed them.

We know the poo caked on their bums hadn't just happened this morning and had been left there for weeks causing damage to the skin and extreme pain and irritation.

We know the ear infection we had pointed out previously hasn't been treated as we were told.

We know how long it takes for eye gunk to be left to cause damage and sores on the skin.

We know these things, even when we are told differently.

We love and care for ALL dogs, we are in this (at times) incredibly difficult career to make a difference to animals we love.

Please work with us and trust we know what we are doing, please tell us the truth about their care at home, because despite what we may be told, our experience and education tells us the truth and working together, the dogs win and that's all that matters ❤️🐾

Parvo virus is doing the rounds again folks!!!

Vaccines are so so so important, please make sure you keep your pup up to date for their safety and the safety of other pups ❤️🐾

🚨PARVOVIRUS!!!🚨

To everyones horror we are again dealing with a new surge of Canine Parvovirus in Christchurch, and our area is also affected. As a responsible dog owner, it's essential to ensure your pet is protected against this highly contagious and life-threatening disease.

Parvovirus affects dogs of all ages, but puppies under 6 months are most susceptible. However 3 of the dogs seen in our clinic in the last week have been 9 months old and one was 13 years old.
The virus is shed in the faeces of infected dogs and can survive in the environment for extended periods long after the infected dog is no longer there.

Symptoms of Parvovirus include:
- Diarrhea
- Vomiting
- Fever
- Lethargy
- Loss of appetite
Sadly not all dogs survive this awful disease 😢

Check your dogs vaccination books or give us a call if you need us to check their vaccine status.
