We are closed to the Public this coming weekend (16 & 17 August) as Lizzie Green (Eventing HP Manager NZ) is giving DR, SJ & XC lessons here.

🔹Stable Venue Upgrade Stage Two - New Vinyl Flooring has been laid in the kitchen and dining areas and the place is looking very clean & tidy. So pleased to finally get rid of that old blue sparkly lino 🥳 The toilets will be getting the same flooring make over within the next couple of weeks.

🔹Stable Venue Upgrade Stage One - Replacement Kitchen
The old kitchen was way past it's used by date and a replacement long overdue. This weekend Clive with the help of our wonderful neighbour's (Suz Bassett & Grant Blackwell) have ripped out the old kitchen and installed a much better 2nd hand one. It looks great and I am sure the individuals and groups that stop over here will appreciate it. Just new lino to come :)

Stop over for South Islander Riders on their way to HOY.
In a joint project with our equestrian neighbour's Grant Blackwell & Suz Bassett (Battle Hill Eventing folks), we were able to offer South Island riders in transit to HOY a place to stop overnight so drivers and horses could rest up after their Ferry trip.
Our Stable Venue facilities (kitchen. lounge area, toilets & showers), human accommodation, and horse yards & paddocks along with Suz & Grant's large paddock bordering our Stable Venue area, which they generously made available for parking, worked well.
Clive & Grant with help from local farmer Russell Williams put a double gate entry between our properties to make it easier for big trucks & floats to access the parking paddock from our Stable driveway.

You'd think Autumn had come early by the amount of leaves on the ground but the trees lost them as stressed from the lack of rain. Nice to have a couple of showers this week.

Our apologies to riders & coaches who have been using our SJ arena over the past several months as the SJ poles have been looking very tatty. Today with the help of our neighbour Emma Blackwell, and her wonder woman Mum Suz Bassett, we renewed the coloured tape on half the poles (5 sets in all) - so a good start. The SJ stands and the red brick wall will also be repainted over the next few weeks.
Looking forward to having jumps we are proud to have riders use.

Our XC is open 🥳 After several weeks of being closed due to persistent overnight rain, the last few days of sunny weather have dried out the XC Paddocks sufficently for riders to use the jumps.
