All raised with care here at Hamilton Heritage Hens from excellent breeding stock — vaccinated and healthy.
Many are from top New Zealand show lines and bred to NZ Poultry Standard quality.

🌼✨ Something magical has sprouted at Hamilton Heritage Hens! ✨🌼

We’re so excited to share our new garden sculpture — these stunning giant dandelions, created by Blissful Dandelions and generously donated to us.

They look beautiful in the day and sparkle under the lights at night. A huge thank you to Blissful Dandelions for this special gift — it’s added such a whimsical touch to the farm. 💛

It will be on display for everyone to enjoy once the farm is no longer a building site and we’ve finished building our new chicken runs. 🐔✨

Yay! First hatch marks the beginning of our new hatching season!

Always such an exciting moment seeing the first chicks pop out.
We're going to keep the first few lots of chicks so we can grow them into pullets for you all so hopefully plenty of pullets in this bunch 🤞

Lots more hatches to come — it’s going to be a busy (and very cute) season at Hamilton Heritage Hens!

Just a wee update on our heritage breeds.

We keep getting asked about pullets, but it’s only the start of the season. Not all of our heritage groups are laying again yet, and we’ve just begun hatching.
Please be patient – the hens run on their own timetable, not ours! 😆

Also, no pre-orders this season and no fertile eggs this early on (we may look at offering them later). We’ll keep Facebook updated as soon as pullets are ready 🐥

Welcome to Hamilton Heritage Hens.

We are a family business selling healthy chickens and fertile eggs from selected Heritage breeds. These include Light and Speckled Sussex, Rhode Island Red, Plymouth Barred Rock, Black, Blue and Splash Orpington and also Gold and Silver Laced Wyandottes.

We stock Sharpe’s Quality Stock Food and we are an agency for Chook Manor Chicken Accessories.

Our business is our passion and we would love to help you raise and care for chickens for your home or lifestyle block or farm. We are always happy to give advice or help.
