Meet Orcha! 🐾 She is an adorable 8-month-old black and white girl with three legs and a whole lot of love to give! 🤍🖤

Sadly, Orcha was abandoned by her previous family, and now she is hoping to find someone who will give her the love and security she deserves. 🏡💕

She is a very affectionate and vocal girl who loves a good cuddle on the laps of her chosen people once she feels comfortable. She just wants to be loved! 🤍

🪶🦆Wild life 🦆🪶

Lately, we’ve had quite a few wild birds brought into the clinic, we know it comes from a place of kindness! 💚 Seeing a little bird on its own can be worrying, and our first instinct is often to help. But sometimes, the best thing we can do for wildlife is to leave them be. 🌿

🐣 Did you know? Adult birds naturally teach their young how to find food, avoid danger and survive independently. Young birds may spend time on the ground or appear to be alone while their parents are nearby, watching over them. Just because a bird is on its own doesn’t necessarily mean it’s abandoned!

🦆 Ducklings and other young birds also need their parents to help them learn important survival skills. Removing them from their natural environment unnecessarily can do more harm than good.

💚 So, before you rescue that little bird, please pause and observe.
✨ Is it injured?
✨ Is it in immediate danger?
✨ Are its parents likely to be nearby?

If the bird is injured, in immediate danger or you genuinely believe it has been orphaned, seek advice from a wildlife rehabilitation or the Department of Conservation before intervening.

🐾 Behind every paw, there’s a person who cares 🐾

Veterinary life is full of love, little victories, difficult days and moments that stay with us long after our shift ends.

We spend our days caring for our patients, comforting worried owners and supporting one another through the highs and lows. But sometimes, we get so caught up looking after everyone else that we forget to look after ourselves, too 💙

This Month is Mental Health Awareness, we want to remind our veterinary community that it’s okay to not be okay. ♥️ Asking for help is a strength, taking a break is important, and checking in on your workmates can mean more than you realise.

Behind every veterinary nurse, vet and support team member is a person who deserves the same care and compassion we give our patients every day 💛

So, take a breath, give yourself some grace, and remember to check in with your people. You never know how much someone might need it ✨

On Wednesdays, we wear PJs! 💙🐾

For today’s Vet Nurse Appreciation Week theme, our nurses traded their scrubs for pyjamas… but don’t worry, the pets still received the same amazing care, cuddles, and attention they always do!

Whether they’re monitoring anaesthetics, assisting in surgery, running nurse consults, comforting nervous patients, or cleaning up the less glamorous messes, our vet nurses do it all with a smile (and apparently matching PJs too!).

A huge thank you to our incredible nursing team for everything they do behind the scenes and on the clinic floor every single day. We appreciate you this week and every week! 💙

This week we’re celebrating Vet Nurse Appreciation Week and recognising the incredible work our veterinary nurses do every single day. Our nursing team is made up of nurses at different stages of their careers, from Diploma-qualified Veterinary Nurses, to our Registered Veterinary Nurses. Each brings their own skills, knowledge, and passion to the role, and together they form an invaluable part of our clinic team. 🩺🐕‍🦺

Meet our Nurses: Caitlin (Junior Nurse), Karen (Senior nurse), Abbie (Intermediate Nurse), Jess (Senior Nurse), Amber (Lead Vet Nurse) 👩🏼‍⚕️✨

Veterinary nurses are at the heart of patient care. They’re the comforting voice for worried owners, the gentle hands caring for nervous pets, and the skilled professionals ensuring every patient receives the best possible care 🐕🤍

Behind the scenes, our nurses are anaesthetists, surgical assistants, radiologists, dental hygienists, surgical preparers, phlebotomists, lab technicians, pain relievers, pharmacists, midwives, cuddlers, treat-feeders and coroners. They possess many clinical skills such as placing and maintain IV catheters, collecting blood samples, preparing cytology, triaging patients, grooming cats, running weight clinics, administering medications and many more! But most importantly, they are your pet’s advocate, a loving hand, and their comforter when in the clinic, they’re there for the cuddles, reassurance, treats, and extra TLC that can make all the difference 💗🐈

Their compassion, knowledge, dedication, and teamwork help keep our clinic running and ensure our patients receive exceptional care from the moment they walk through our doors ✨💙
