Important advice regarding drenching of youngstock from the Emma at Wormwise.

Faecal egg count monitoring after drenching is crucial to make sure that the oral drench you are using is working effectively.

Remember that the most expensive drench you will ever use is one that isn't working!

Give us a call at the clinic to discuss your parasite management and what oral combination drench is best suited for your calves on your farm.

We had a great day out yesterday on farm doing some field trials of different methods of pain relief for lambs at tailing and castration. This was a valuable experience for our clients who attended and also our staff and industry reps to see how these interventions are applied in a real world situation.

Our fine wool growers who supply the New Zealand Merino Company will be implementing some of these methods to improve animal welfare on farm over the next few years, and even some of our strong wool growers will be using pain relief for castration and tailing this season after seeing the difference it makes.

Its great to see New Zealand farmers once again leading the way in the world with regards to animal welfare on farm!

If you are a sheep farmer interested in learning more about the use of pain relief for castration and tailing please get in touch. We do have the availability to do further on farm sessions to demonstrate these interventions in action, or can run training days on your own farm.
