Last week to lock your mare in Quasar’s book for the 2025/26 season at the early bird price of $1500 plus GST 🦅
A signed contract and booking fee need to be received prior to the 1 September, with the remainder of the service fee due prior to semen being sent.

He is now home with us after grazing at my parents property since his arrival - and as of today has had a refresher on his ground work before I climb on board in due course. He is such a dude 😎

We are well and truly on the countdown to Quasar’s first foals being due and we couldn’t be more excited!
We are even more excited about some of the mares who have already had their contracts returned for this season. A reminder that the early bird fee of $1500 plus GST applies only until 1 September. Thereafter, this increases to $1700 plus GST. Time is flying!

He will be available from 1 October through til mid March.
Early bird bookings receive last seasons price of $1500 plus GST. Thereafter, his service fee is $1700 plus GST.
Like last season….I will be throwing some winter special services out there, but only two this season rather than three. Watch this space 👀

What a seemingly impossible task it was to narrow the applications down to just one recipient 🫣

With that being said, a big congratulations to Julia Percy! Julia is a 22 year old Show Jumping rider from North Canterbury who more recently has also found a love for Eventing, and has been very successful on her self produced horse.
With a dedication second to none and a great team around her, I hope this service and resulting foal will help her along the way of achieving her future goals 💫

🚨One day left to get those applications in for a sponsored service for an up and coming young rider!

Nearly 8 years ago, I was very privileged to win a sponsored service to the beautiful Let’s Kiss N Tell. I like to think things go full circle, so to give another young rider a helping hand and a boost of horse power, going forward we will bi-annually be offering a sponsored service to Quasar SSH to a deserving young rider under 25 years of age, from any discipline.
To qualify, you must be 25 years or under at date of application, have the means to afford vets fees and subsequent appropriate care of both mare and foal, and either the land and experience to foal a mare yourself OR the means to send her off for foaling down.
We are starting this early, in case the chosen young rider is not already sorted with a broodmare (we may be able to assist with contacts for this if not).

To apply - please PM this page with a bit about yourself, your current riding achievements, and short and long term goals, along with some photos of you riding. Also your plans for the mare during the duration of her pregnancy, and plans for the resulting foal.
References will be required for our final three young riders before the winning young rider is chosen.

I like to think things go full circle, so to give another young rider a helping hand and a boost of horse power, going forward we will bi-annually be offering a sponsored service to Quasar SSH to a deserving young rider under 25 years of age, from any discipline.
To qualify, you must be 25 years or under at date of application, have the means to afford vets fees and subsequent appropriate care of both mare and foal, and either the land and experience to foal a mare yourself OR the means to send her off for foaling down.
We are starting this early, in case the chosen young rider is not already sorted with a broodmare (we may be able to assist with contacts for this if not).

Ken continues to impress me with his temperament - super intelligent, quick learner but so laid back as well!
Only his second time with gear on yesterday (a couple of months after his first time), and first time in the long reins, with a mare in a neighbouring paddock doing galloping screaming laps 🫣 And Ken was a complete professional! Hopefully it’s not another couple of months before I find the time to do another session 😂

We are taking bookings for next season, and his list is already filling up. His 24/25 service fee of $1500 plus GST stands until 1 August. From then onwards he will be available at $1750 plus GST. A signed contract and booking fee will confirm your spot on his books - these spots will be limited once again due to him commencing his ridden career.

And that’s a wrap for the 2024/25 breeding season! It was never in my plans to acquire a breeding stallion, but it was a case of not being able to tear myself away from his advert, and then everything just falling into place as if it was meant to be.
It’s been a huge leap of faith and a real learning curve, and I can’t thank those enough who have supported him this season. He’s had some truly phenomenal mares scan in foal and the future is looking incredibly bright for the pool of dilute warmbloods here in NZ! We absolutely cannot wait to see his first foals on the ground.

A huge Thankyou to Goldengrove Studfarm for sharing their time, experience, and knowledge throughout the season to get things up and running for us. Ken loves his quick visits to “work” 🤣

He already has mares on his list for next season, and again we will only be taking a limited number of select mares.

Ken will be having a wee break now and I will soon be starting him under saddle. Exciting times 🤩
