Dangers of Calf Feed!

Over the last few weeks, we have had a series of dogs presenting to the Dannevirke & Waipukurau clinic with suspected ionophore toxicity, following ingestion of calf milk replacer or meal.

While these feeds are fantastic for rapidly growing young calves, the products can pose a very serious danger to dogs and other non-ruminant animals, including horses and pigs.

What about this guy…… we have had an amazing function for Grant Duff tonight. Clients, friends, family, suppliers and staff old and current. End of an era, a career, a fantastic Retail Manager who has given his all to Vet Services Dannevirke for the past 37 years. Thanks to all who attended and helped us celebrate, share stories and reflect on Grants time with Vet Services Dannevirke. We will all miss him.

Vet Services have an exciting opportunity for a part-time Companion Animal Administrator to join our vibrant Companion Animal team at our Dannevirke clinic.
We are looking for an experienced administrator who is passionate about all things pet related, has fantastic organisational and multitasking skills and can juggle multiple tasks.

Our ideal candidate is friendly, positive, enthusiastic, motivated and outgoing. A great communicator who enjoys working a friendly team whilst predominantly undertaking individual tasks. You will have previous experience in nursing or an industry related role.
The role is part-time and 1-year fixed term to cover parental leave.

Introducing our newest nurse to clinic, Annalise. She joins us from Geraldine in the South Island and has settled into life in the Southern Hawkes Bay. A born and bred Southerner she is enjoying the slightly warmer weather of the North. Outside of work Annalise enjoys running, spending time on the farm and socialising with friends. Annalise is a great addition to the team and we enjoy her sense of humour. 😊
