🐾 Pawsonality of the Week: Jet

Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel x Poodle

My favorite thing about Jet
My favorite thing about Jet is how he’s a little social butterfly 🦋 with all his friends. When he gets so excited he does his little spinning circles 🔄 (serious 90 degree turn and dead stop!) and he’s always on his best behavior when the treats come out! He is such a happy guy and always makes us laugh!

What I’ve been working on with Jet
I’ve been working on Jet’s recall 🎯 because he is such a social bunny 🐰 and loves to go say hi to other people and dogs on walks (that aren’t in our crew!) To help Jet with his recall and staying with us on a walk, we sometimes have him on a longline 🦮 That way, if he does lose focus, we can get him back safely!

Whenever Jet comes back to us or starts running towards us, we always make a big fuss 🎉 and get very excited. This makes him more willing and excited to come to us because he wants to know what’s going on. He also gets a treat whenever he comes to check in 🦴, even if we haven’t called him. That way, he learns he will always get a treat whenever he comes to check in with us. This also helps because we are more exciting than the other people and dogs he may see on a walk.

He’s been doing amazing with this and has graduated to only having the long line on him when we are heading back to the van 😊

Jet’s favorite thing to do
Jet’s favorite thing to do is zoom through the forest 🌳 at high speed chasing his friends or being chased. He also loves spinning around in circles (as previously mentioned! 🔁) when he comes to you for a treat because he gets so excited!

💛 My favourite thing about Simon
My favourite thing about Simon is the gentle nature he has about himself. He is an all-round gentle and well-behaved boy who loves a treat 🍖 and a cuddle 🥰.

🎯 Something I have been working on with Simon
Simon is always waiting right by your side hoping for treats, but sometimes he hangs around waiting a little too much and forgets to play with the other dogs 🐕 because he is too focused on the chance of missing out on a treat. To help with this, I have not been treating Simon every time he is by my side or asks for one. When he runs off to play with his friends and then comes back to me, he always gets a treat 🐾. This has helped him learn that it is ok to run around and play, and that he will still get a treat when he comes back 🐶.

Simon’s favourite thing to do is sneak any treats that fall out of your pocket when you are not looking 👀 and then act completely innocent 😅

✨ Big things are brewing behind the scenes at Zoomies ✨

You might have noticed a little shuffle… we’ve combined the Lisa & Roo Podcast and Zoomies Dog Nutrition pages into one happy corner of the internet 🐾

Lisa and Roo has its own identity alongside but separate from our Zoomies Dog Training & Adventures page 🧡 (Give it a follow if you haven’t already)

Why? Because there is a whole lot of goodness coming and I needed one joyful place to share it all ✨

Everything from dog training & behaviour to nutrition, to life behind the scenes with Roo and a few of my own musings along the way.

The Lisa & Roo community is growing 🌍 and I love seeing the conversations, holistic insights and waggy connections coming to life 🐕

And yes… I’ve been quietly cooking up something BIG 🎓 Zoomies to Zen, a new signature course, is on its way. It’s designed to help dog owners everywhere create more calm, confidence and connection with their dogs (and themselves). I cannot wait to share it with you.

What’s extra exciting is how this space will also add to and enrich everything we do at Zoomies Dog Training & Adventures. The knowledge, tools, and holistic approach we’re building here will continue to support our amazing local Zoomers, our team, and our wider community of dog lovers.

Jasmyne’s Pawsonality of the Week – Hamish!

🦴Name: Hamish

🐾 Breed: Border Terrier

✨ My favorite thing about Hamish:
The little bum wiggle and squeal he does when I arrive to pick him up—pure joy in dog form!

🎯 What I’ve been working on with Hamish:
We’ve been focusing on his recall, especially when there are bunnies around (his biggest temptation!). To help him with this, I always treat him at the start of our walk and reward him throughout when he checks in with me, even if I haven’t called him.

🐕 Hamish’s favorite thing to do:
Also known as Casanova, Hamish loves nothing more than chasing rabbits and hanging out with all his girlfriends in Alex and Cromwell on his adventures!
