Did you know that, according to the law, kittens are allowed to leave their mother from seven weeks of age, even though this is often far too early? Research shows that kittens who stay with their mother and breeder until around 14–15 weeks develop less stress, fear, and behavioral problems.

During this period, they learn essential social and emotional skills that contribute to a stable, healthy life.

But it’s important to note: the mother cat must be well socialized and the breeder must actively invest time in the socialization process!

Our kittens therefore move to their new homes only at 14 to 15 weeks of age. We expose them to normal household noises, handle them frequently, get them used to our dogs, and make sure they are comfortable being touched everywhere. We also practice checking their teeth, trimming their nails, and more.

A good start with a responsible, caring breeder truly makes a difference for a cat’s entire life.
