Why are pet-friendly hotels still not designed for pets?

Today many hotels proudly call themselves pet-friendly. Guests pay additional fees to stay with their dogs — but in reality, hotels rarely provide anything for them.

No dog bed.
No safe space for the dog.
No solution for hotel staff.

We’ve experienced this many times ourselves.

When we leave the room, housekeeping cannot clean because the staff are afraid of the dog.
There is nowhere safe to close the dog while the room is being serviced.
And while we’re away, the reception often calls with complaints that the dog is barking.

So the question is simple:

Why are hotels charging for dogs but not designing spaces for them?

At Maison Fido, we decided to solve this problem.
