An era has come to an end. Today we say goodbye to one of the pillars of Gerda’s Honden Service – Theodore

For 4 years, he walked with us every single day. He grew up with us and welcomed every new member into the pack with open paws. He was the clown of the group, the one you could never take too seriously.

He was the one who:
• flirted with every girl
• was always part of every party
• and was absolutely terrified of every van

Now he’s moving… far away.

It hurts a little, but life is full of surprises. We wish him all the best in his new home – may he find his place quickly and make many wonderful new friends.

Funny to look back at how the weather changed this past week! ❄️☀️
On Monday and Tuesday we still managed to find some snow in the forest, and by Wednesday we were greeted by bright sunshine and real spring vibes.
Our team is ready for anything, as long as the company is good 😉

Winter wonderland ❄️☃️

The snow brought us so much happiness, but we’re being extra careful as well!

Today there were no group walks — we only did the essential hygiene walks for those who were home alone.
Please everyone stay safe on the roads, and still try to enjoy the snow as much as possible! 🐾

🎉2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣5️⃣ Throwback 🎉

I picked one favorite photo from each month to look back at everything this year brought us.

It was full of change—dogs joined our pack, others moved on, there was joy, there were goodbyes, but through it all we stayed positive, grateful, and together. 🫶

We have also many highlights of the year:
• WoofTalk – an inspiring 3-day workshop
• Swimming lesson
• Expeditie Duin by Strandlab
• Buurtfest in Naarden
…and hundreds km walking, playing, running and fun 🤸‍♂️

So much love, learning and wagging tails this year. On to the next adventure! 🐾

Karácsony előtt meglátogattuk a káli Papamaci Árvái /Öregkutyák menhelyet, ahova személyesen vittünk adományt Hollandiából.
Főleg elhasznált törölközőket, plédeket, ágyneműket gyűjtöttünk, illetve rengeteg pórázt, felszerelést.
Köszönet Pantomas-nak, aki költségmentesen eljuttatta Magyarországra, illetve egy részét személyesen is elvitte nekik!

A telepen egyébként jelenleg 120 kutya tartózkodik. Reméljük, hamar megtalálják az álomcsaládot 🙏🏻🐾

Smiling faces and wagging tails! 🐾🏡

Over the past two days, we distributed donations in Hungary to a dog shelter and to 6️⃣6️⃣ families in two villages.
This incredible amount was given by you, the clients of Gerda’s Honden Service (25 families), so that Christmas can be a little easier for those who are having the hardest time right now!
Thank you for making it possible, for contributing in any way, and for being part of our project 🤍

Our huge thanks to Pantomas, who delivered everything from the Netherlands to Hungary free of charge! 🚚
We would also like to thank our helpers, Csaba and Erika, the family support workers of the local municipality, for connecting us with these families!

We are grateful to dog shelter Papamaci Árvái /Öregkutyák as well for accepting our donation— where 1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣ dogs living at the moment 🐶
