Barker & Bone is more than a dog daycare, we are a dog development centre dedicated to raising calm, confident, well-balanced dogs through professional training, structured care, and purposeful enrichment.
Every dog in our care is treated as an individual. We believe that lasting behavioural change comes from understanding each dog’s unique temperament, drives, genetics, learning style, and emotional needs. Rather than simply supervising dogs, we provide an environment where they can learn, develop, and succeed every single day.
Our approach combines evidence-informed training principles with carefully structured socialisation, confidence building, impulse control, environmental exposure, enrichment, and clear communication. Every interaction has a purpose, whether we’re teaching foundational obedience, improving leash manners, building reliable recall, strengthening neutrality around distractions, increasing confidence in unfamiliar environments, or helping dogs develop appropriate social skills with both people and other dogs.
Our daycare program is designed to be an extension of your dog’s education, not just a place to spend the day. Dogs are guided through structured routines that encourage calm behaviour, emotional regulation, good manners, and healthy social interactions while preventing the rehearsal of unwanted behaviours. We believe quality interactions are far more valuable than uncontrolled play, which is why our experienced team actively manages every session to create positive learning opportunities.
For dogs requiring more focused development, our training and Board & Train programs provide a structured foundation in obedience, engagement, impulse control, and everyday life skills. We don’t believe in quick fixes or temporary results. Instead, we build behaviours that owners can confidently maintain long after their dog returns home, because true success comes from consistency, education, and teamwork between dog and owner.
