π± "Your Dog's Bowl Might Be Lying to You..." πΎ
Meet a sweet pup who used to think mealtime meant "as much as I can beg for." His humans loved him SO much, they kept giving in... until he started slowing down on walks and napping way too much. π΄
That's when they learned the truth: love isn't measured in extra scoops. β€οΈ
Here's what changed everything for him (and can help your pup too!):
π₯£ 1. Check the label, not your instincts
Every dog food bag has feeding guidelines based on weight β start there, not on those puppy-dog eyes.
βοΈ 2. Weight matters more than the bowl size
A 20kg dog and a 20kg dog aren't always the same β activity level, age, and breed all play a role. When in doubt, ask your vet!
π 3. Consistency is key
2 meals a day, same time, same amount β dogs thrive on routine.
π 4. Treats count too!
Those little snacks add up. Keep treats to about 10% of daily calories.
π 5. Feel the ribs, not the food coma
You should be able to feel (not see) your dog's ribs with a light touch. That's the sweet spot!
Today, he's back to his zoomies-in-the-yard self β proof that the right portion makes ALL the difference. πΎπ
