It was a beautiful, warm day today in Durban North and Umhlanga for our Bark for Mark clients. This is Chelsea after her bath, 🛁 enjoying every moment. It took 3 large towels and the high velocity blower to dry her long, thick coat. We have more sunny 🌞 days forecast and tomorrow will be the turn for my Westville dogs to enjoy their baths 🛁.

Some beautiful beach pics of Maverick, the Weimerama and Nandi, the Rottie. The plan was to bath both dogs this morning and I knew it was going to be challenging based on their first bath experience two months ago. We started with Maverick and thanks to their hooman mom helping me and getting wet as well, we managed- only just. Then it was Nandi's turn and we didn't get very far. She was totally unmanageable and to avoid stressing her out or hurting herself plus to avoid risk of injury to us, we very quickly abandoned her bath. But as you can see from their beach pics, they both love the sea, so I'm hopeful that one day they well enjoy a bath day as they grow up.
Thanks to the family for lovely pics of them.

Bengi & Marshall live near me and I've been bathing them monthly for many years now. Marshall is the Golden Lab and Bengi is the George Russel - oops, still thinking of the Canadian F1 GP last night...a Jack Russel. Jumpin Jacks and a Labs make the perfect family pets for a family with young children - so much love ❤️ and excitement. These two love their bath days and I always get a loving welcome when they see me.

I bathed my Bark for Mark in Kloof this morning. Two, Holly & Tess, are long haired Belgian Shepherds, with very thick coats and love to play in the bushes, so they get a double bath to flush out all the sand followed by a high velocity blow dry. Mapper is a very large Mastiff and Jasper, also a very large Pit Bull. And then there is Cody, the smallest and a very affectionate Africanis. You can see a 2nd Africanis in the pics, called Snappy, which would make them the Big 6, and for obvious reasons I unfortunately can't bath him, sadly for him. Tess, Holly and Cody all love their baths but with Jasper and Holly, just tolerate the process but then I see wagging tails afterwards.

Origins of the Min Pin aka miniature Pinscher. Many centuries ago, when kings ruled over their kingdoms in Central Europe and the knights of the square table fought battles on the open plains surrounding the dense forests of what we now call Germany, a brave Chihuahua called Pierre, left his pack in France and traveled across Europe to seek fame and fortune. There he encountered a group of Dobermans, taking shelter in a cave, in a woodland in Southern Germany. They welcomed him into their pack and fed him and tended to him after his long trip. Once Pierre had recovered his strength, he would sleep alongside one of the Doberman females and he "lay" with her. The next night he did the same with another female and he continued this routine until he was exhausted and every female had received his seed. Weeks later, the female Dobermans began to feel a wriggling in their bellies and Pierre spent his days tending to his wives. When the right time had passed, each Doberman gave birth to a litter of mini Dobermans, of all different colours- they were called Min Pins, after the German name, Pinscher, by which the Dobermans were known. Pierre then went on his journey and settled in with another pack of Pinschers, and continued to spread his love wherever he went.

The last pic is of Joko, who has just been adopted and had his first Bark for Mark bath today. I'm not sure but I think he is more the French variety?
Thank you to Aunt Caroline and Gerald who helped me this morning 🌄
