Animal Medical Centre - Malta

Animal Medical Centre - Malta Animal Medical Centre is a new small animal veterinary clinic in Attard. Hello everyone! My name is Daphne and I am a small animal veterinarian.

Ever since I watched Dr DoLittle as a little girl, I knew in my heart there was nothing else in the world I wanted to become. Since there is no veterinary course in Malta, I moved to Italy where I graduated as a vet in 2011. Since then, I have traveled around Europe and Africa, working mostly with small animals, which is my true passion.

Happy Friday! 💗
Willow, Digby, and Martha lit up the clinic this week with their wagging tails and plenty of kisses!
All three have the sweetest natures and always make sure there's a smile on everyone's face.
We're happy to report that they're all healthy and well, visiting us simply for their annual vaccinations.
Thank you, Willow, Digby, and Martha, for spreading so much love and happiness. We hope you and your furry friends have a wonderful weekend! 🐾💕

‼️🐾The story of Rodney🐾‼️

⛔️medical images⛔️

Rodney presented with a history of pain in his stomach along with vomiting. A few days before he broke into a bin… this can always be a concern as if something is eaten that can’t be passed through, there is a risk of a blockage. Through investigations we discovered he had netting stuck in his intestines. Without urgent intervention this can be fatal due to the risk of sepsis, reduced blood flow and damage to intestinal walls.

After two surgeries, weeks of sleepless nights from Rodney’s dedicated family and the staff here, and intensive medical intervention, Rodney began to recover!

The dedication from his devoted family who spent weeks coming back and forward to the clinic helping us to give Rodney the best possible care allowed Rodney to return back to his bouncy, playful self.

Rodney’s special personality and incredible strength continues to put a smile on everyone’s face when he comes to the clinic to say hello🐾🤗

‼️Caution post‼️

What is a foxtail?
Foxtails are grass seeds with sharp tips that easily stick to your dog’s fur and burrow into the body.
Unlike other plant material, foxtails only move forward, which means they can travel deeper into skin, paws, ears, eyes, or even the nose. This can cause infection, abscess, and other complications

What to watch for? 👀
• Excessive licking of paws or limping
• Head shaking or scratching ears
• Red or squinting eyes
• Sudden sneezing or nasal discharge
• Swelling or draining wounds

How to prevent it ✨
• Avoid tall dry grass during walks
• Check paws, ears, and coat after outdoor time
• Keep grass trimmed around your home

Exciting News at Animal Medical Centre!

We’re thrilled to announce that we now have an Imagyst machine in clinic!

This AI-powered, cloud-connected diagnostic platform allows us to analyse, classify, and report on samples within minutes — right here in the clinic.

Imagyst can test:
• Urine samples
• Faecal samples
• Blood smears
• Cytology (including lump assessments)

This means your furry friends can receive fast, accurate, and thorough diagnostic results to help us get them the care they need as quickly as possible.

If you have concerns about your pet’s faeces, would like their urine checked, or need a lump examined, please contact the clinic to book an appointment.

Please allow up to 24 hours for results.

💜Happy international women’s day!💜

Today we want to celebrate all the amazing women at Animal medical centre!

Veterinary would not be possible without the women who dedicate their time, skills and passion to animals. 60% of veterinarians, 95% of veterinary nurses and 90% of veterinary receptionists are women.🐾

We are proud of all the amazing women in this practice and within the veterinary field who show endless compassion, empathy and knowledge everyday!💜🐾
