Ellie on her second birthday, in her birthday bow. Ellie is a golden retriever in Indiana who is training with me to be a therapy dog. I have been in her life since she was just two months old and have had the privilege of watching her grow into a fine young lady. I am so proud of her.

“Now we have tried in-person trainers but none like you!!! You are the very best. I admire your wisdom, patience and love of dogs! It’s truly exceptional. I was doubtful of virtual training at first but you are so good at what you do. You taught me to ‘read’ Louie’s personality the way we do other humans. You have taught me to see life through his eyes and for that I thank you. I know now that training doesn’t ever have to end. There’s always something new for me to learn and to teach Louie”- Angie, Erv and Louie Vuitton, USA

Ashwini is an AMAZING dog trainer! Honestly the word “trainer” is almost inadequate because her talents and understanding go well beyond simple training. She knows what your dog is thinking almost before your dog does! She is kind, gentle, patient, and filled with compassion and understanding. It doesn’t matter where you and your dog are, you will both learn plenty about training, and almost as importantly: each other! Your dog can teach you plenty about yourself if you’re willing to be patient and share the learning experience. 🐕💜- Mark and Lilia, Hawaii, USA

We didn’t “train out” Frannie’s reactivity.
We found the reason for it.

Pain.

Now she willingly lies still for acupuncture for 20 minutes.

Turns out, when you address the dog — not just the behaviour — things get a lot easier.

Callie 💛

When she first came home, the world felt too big — she spent her days in a closet, trying to stay safe.

Fast forward to now: this is her learning to lay down ✨

Not through pressure. Not through force.
But through capture — waiting, observing, and gently marking the moments she offered on her own.

For a dog this anxious, even being seen can feel like too much.
So we worked with that, not against it — and virtual training made that possible.

Progress doesn’t always look loud.
Sometimes it looks like this: a quiet exhale… and a dog choosing to stay.

“I reached out to Ashwini for the second time since Waldo came to our family. We just moved and he was doing a lot of barking at night. Ashwini identified his inability to relax with all the new sounds in the new house. She took me step by step through ways to get his attention and clearly give him direction to his safe spot. It took a few lessons because I was unaware of sending too many messages at once, Waldo now knows exactly what I want and barks only occasionally and is quickly interrupted and able to return to a calm state.

Ashwini swiftly assesses the source of problem behaviors and problem solves with us effective techniques. She can read every communication. Waldo is making and has taught me how to interpret his needs and emotions. Our family is so grateful for her wonderful, supportive help” - Daphne and Waldo (USA)

Bugg and I have been working on her separation anxiety for nine months.

Last week she reached a record milestone: 38 minutes alone.

This is a huge win for both of us, and I’m incredibly proud of her.

She stands as a testament to both CSAT training and the power of virtual training.

Virtual Dog Training FAQ: How does it work?

Virtual training is simply a different medium of instruction — much like the difference between a traditional classroom and an online classroom. The learning itself is the same; the format is just different.

In a virtual session, the trainer (in this case, myself) works without physically touching the dog or the leash. Instead, I coach the guardian step by step so they can gain the responses they’re looking for from their dog.

The goal is to help the guardian develop clear communication with their dog, rather than relying on the trainer to handle the dog directly.

Sessions take place over Zoom and are typically 30–40 minutes long. They include two parts: discussion and active learning. During the active portion we work through exercises together, and these can be quite physical — there is usually movement and practical work involved.

Virtual training is extremely effective. I’ve conducted thousands of sessions over the years and have been specifically trained and certified to teach using this method.
