These are the cases we fear the most: train accidents and hakka patas (explosive jaw bombs).
This beautiful girl was rushed to our sanctuary today after being struck by a train. As you can see, her injuries are horrific. Our team fought hard to stabilise her because, in cases like this, shock is often the greatest threat to survival. Treating shock and getting patients stable is always our first priority.
Sadly, this is the harsh reality for so many dogs in Sri Lanka and we see devastating injuries like this far too often, and every one is a race against time.
We will do everything we possibly can to give this poor soul a chance to survive. But emergency treatment is expensive. Admission test kits, blood tests, pain relief, medications, fluids, wound care, and ongoing intensive treatments all add up very quickly.
If you can help us continue saving animals like her, please consider making a donation today. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps us give these innocent victims the care they so desperately need.
