A dog was brought to us with signs of vomiting, abdominal pain, and refusal to eat. After examination and imaging, we discovered the culprit: a piece of metal wire lodged inside the intestines. Yes, a wire. The dog had likely swallowed it while chewing on something around the house, and over time, it caused severe irritation, pain, and a life-threatening blockage.

Emergency surgery was the only option. We successfully removed the wire, and the brave pup is now recovering well. But not all animals are as lucky – foreign bodies can cause perforation, sepsis, or even death if not treated in time.

🔍 Signs your pet may have swallowed something dangerous:

Our amazing orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Ed, led the delicate surgery, expertly placing pins to stabilize the fracture. The procedure required precision, skill, and a whole lot of care, but our team pulled together to make sure the surgery was a success! Check the video how it was!

Not long ago, our team at Animal Mama Hospital was visited by a rather unusual patient – a pigeon! His owners were worried because he had persistent diarrhea, and they wanted to make sure he was okay.

We performed a thorough physical examination and ran a f***l test, which revealed the cause: Giardia! It is a microscopic intestinal parasite that can infect many animals, including birds.

❗ What are the signs of Giardia in birds?
– Diarrhea or abnormal droppings
– Weight loss or reduced appetite
– Lethargy or weakness
– Fluffed-up feathers

🐒 Monkeys as pets: Saving an animal or catastrophic behaviour?🐒

You see a monkey in a diaper on your socials. It looks adorable, sweet, harmless.

But behind that one-minute video is a story of pain, trauma, and danger: for both the animal and the people around it.

What you don’t see:
– A terrified wild baby stolen from its mother
– A monkey in captivity, stressed and confused
– An unvaccinated animal that can carry life-threatening diseases
– Killed mothers, whose baby is so adorable on your feed
– Injures of little babies: most of them are being injured on purpose – burned, cut, etc - to stage a video rescue and fake veterinary care
– Grown up babies: you don’t know but in most of the cases, once the baby monkey is grown, they are being killed or chained in the tiny cage (just because they are not so engaging in feed anymore!)

🧠 Did you know?
Monkeys can transmit tuberculosis, rabies, and herpes B virus to humans. These aren’t rare illnesses: they are deadly, and in some cases, 70% fatal without early treatment.

📢 Wild animals are not pets. They don’t belong in cages, on leashes, or in living rooms.
They belong in the wild with their families, in their natural environment. Every cute monkey baby in your feed – is an orphan, whose mother was killed, just so people can “save” it from the cruel wildlife trade by buying it. But is it actually helping?
