Aflatoxin poisoning (Aflatoxicosis) is a serious and potentially fatal condition caused by toxins produced by certain molds that grow on improperly stored grains and pet foods.

These toxins can damage your pet's liver and affect blood clotting, leading to severe illness or even death if not addressed promptly.

Signs of Aflatoxin Poisoning
• Loss of appetite
• Vomiting
• Lethargy or weakness
• Yellowing of the eyes or gums (jaundice)
• Excessive thirst
• Diarrhea
• Unexplained bruising or bleeding
• Collapse in severe cases

How to Protect Your Pet

✅ Store pet food in a cool, dry place.

✅ Keep food in its original bag and place the entire bag inside an airtight container.

✅ Avoid storing pet food in direct sunlight or damp areas.

✅ Purchase quantities that can be used within a reasonable time.

✅ Check food regularly for unusual smells, discoloration, moisture, or mold growth.

✅ Always seal food bags properly after each use.

✅ Never feed food that appears moldy or has been exposed to water.

Spaying or Depo-Provera: Which is Safer for Your Pet?

NEW PET OWNERS GUIDE: Deworming, Vaccination & Flea/Tick Control!

Bringing a new cat or dog home is exciting but proper care is key to raising a healthy, happy pet!

Here’s a simple guide to help you:

Vaccinations

Puppies & kittens: Start at 6–8 weeks of age
➡ Then booster every 3–4 weeks until about 16 weeks
➡ After that: Yearly boosters (as advised by your vet)

Key vaccines include protection against deadly diseases like rabies, parvo, and distemper.

Deworming

Start at 2–3 weeks of age (for puppies/kittens)
➡ Repeat every 2 weeks until 12 weeks old
➡ Then monthly until 6 months
➡ Adult pets: every 3 months or as recommended by your vet

Worms can affect growth, appetite, and overall health don’t skip this!

Flea & Tick Control

➡Start from 6–8 weeks of age (depending on product used)
➡ Continue monthly treatment or as directed
➡Always treat both pets and their environment to prevent re-infestation

Fleas and ticks can cause itching, skin infections, and even serious diseases.

NB: Always consult your vet before starting any treatment plan for your pet.
