💞ADOPTION ALERT💞

Our sweet girls Velvet and Morticia have found their furrever homes 🥰

Velvet was rescued in 2022 by CCS Hoomans as a vulnerable kitten at only 3 months old. We’ve watched her grow for 3 years into a cute treat-obsessed goofball! She’s constantly showing off her silliness, whether it’s with her wide-eyed blank stares or with her lazy stretches where she shows off her spotted belly 🥺

Morticia came to us in May of this year. She was found with a grave injury on her front limb and brought to our NGO unit for treatment. It was determined that she would need a life-saving leg amputation. Once she recovered, she came to Cat Cafe Studio to find her furrever home! Morticia became an instant cuddle bug! She loves being with hoomans, whether it’s to curl up on a lap or curiously watch them through the door 👀

Erum and her family were already set on adopting a kitty or two when they stopped by at Cat Cafe Studio, one evening. Morticia enamoured them immediately with her adorable face and need to snuggle. Velvet made them laugh with her silly antics. Realising that they’d fallen in love with both, it was decided! Velvet and Morticia would be heading home with Erum! After going through the adoption process with flying colours, our babies head home 🌈

Now in a home to call their own, Velvet and Morticia are loved to no limits. They spend the day being snuggled, loved and played with. They are pampered endlessly by Erum and her whole family. We couldn’t be happier that our kitties found a home better than this one 🥹

On Sunday, we gathered again for the Calico Book Club, this time to discuss a classic: The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde 🪞

Donned in his Victiorian best, Theo co-hosted the discussion alongside Dee from . We huddled together in the cat area, sipping on iced tea, with our books and journals to talk about the elusive Dorian Gray 🖤

We talked about his faustian deal to remain ageless, his romance with Sybil, his sins and wrongdoings, about beauty and vanity, about the author and the great question: can we separate the art from the artist? 🤔

Between chats, cuddles with cats and books we loved, we connected and made new friends along the way 🐈‍⬛

CUDDLE PUDDLE SEASON IS HERE EARLY

With the monsoon 🌧️ here to stay for the next couple of months, kitties have been in a mood to get cozy together! The chill in the air put them all in the mood to snuggle up with their sibling or bestie 🥰 No matter how much our kitties may throw paws at each other, they’ll always end the day cuddling on a pillow together 🥺

This season our Valentine’s kitten bundle has kicked off the cuddle puddles 💘 Vivi, Vero, Valentina and Verona are always piling up together after a whole day of playing non stop! Jacky, Max and Nikolaj will find a way to squeeze into whichever puddle has space 🧸 You’ll spot 2, 3 and if you’re lucky 5 kitties in one smol pillow together 🥹

Milan has blossomed so much since his first arrival! From cautiously poking his head out from the highest cat tree cubby to accepting comforting pets from visitors, we couldn’t be prouder 🏆

Painfully shy in his first few weeks here, it was rare to spot Milan on your visit. He and his sister-from-another-mister, London were joined at the hip in their cubby. While still close to her, Milan has grown independent, and now has interests of his own 🏵️

Curious as ever, Milan loves hooman-watch! He prefers to do so from the secure spots of cubbies, where can observe from a height. If not in a cubby, you’ll spot him in his favourite sitting position: The Loaf™ 🍞

While usually quiet, Milan has a surprising vocal range! Once in a while, you’ll hear his loud meow for treats or attention 🗣️ He needs EVERYONE to see how cute he is. And his twinkling dark eyes are proof of that! Milan will break out of quiet mode all of sudden when a plaything appears. Be it a string toy, wadded up ball of tissue or even a crochet cat collar, it’s his toy to play with now 🪀

He’s grown incredibly fond of pets. While picky of who gets the honour to do so, you’ll catch him content on the floor, getting loving scritches on his neck and chin from a visiting hooman 🥰 It’s quite a sight, seeing how happy he is with human contact, considering how bashful he was when we first met him 🥹

We’ve grown quite fond of Milan here and so happy with his progress. And as much as we love to watch him grow, he’s looking for his furrver hooman. He would love to be in a home with his chosen sister, London! He would be purrfect in a home with a family, a loving couple or even a lovely single person. All he wants is for someone to take a chance on him 💖

✨NEW KITTY ALERT✨

Meet our spicy new boy, Rico 🌶️

Rico was rescued by CCS Hoomans. He was found in distress breathing very heavily in the middle of the road.  We rushed him to our sister organization . After initial examinations and x-rays, the pawsome veterinary team diagnosed him with a diaphragmatic hernia. A Diaphragmatic Hernia is a life-threatening injury where the diaphragm (the muscle that separates the chest and abdomen) is torn, causing vital organs like the stomach, liver, and intestines to shift into the chest cavity. This puts immense pressure on his lungs, making it difficult for Rico to breathe. He received life-saving surgery to treat it. Once he received his clean bill of health, he came to Cat Café Studio to find his furrever hooman 💗

Rico likes to give off the impression that he’s a spicy boy not to be messed with. Don’t be fooled! He has a very silly side to him 😛

He lets it out only on special occasions, and only to hoomans who he deems worthy of his attention. Rico has a particular affection for a stuffy in the shape of a hot sauce bottle 🌶️ He loves to just have by his side or to playfully wrestle with 😂 Rico wants everyone who visits to think that he’s a Bad Boy™ when he’s really just a Sweet Silly Boy™.

While we have nothing but endless love for, Rico, what he really wants is a furrever home. He would love to have a home all to himself. A home with higher energy would be purrfect for him 🥰 With children to keep him on his paws to play with. He would be a wonderful companion in a home with a family, loving couple or even a single person. All he wants is for someone to take a chance on him 🥺

We love loaves here 🍞

All cat sitting, sleeping and lying positions are very fascinating. The graceful stretches, exposed tummies, the odd sprawls, but none is as elegant and refined as The Loaf™ 🐱

If you’re unfamiliar with that kitty terminology, loaf is when a cat sits in a compact, rectangular position. With their paws and tail tucked beneath them, they resemble a loaf of bread from the top! Kitties do that quite often here and as we have a variety in shapes, sizes and colours, you can spot so many different types of loaves here!

Which one of the CCS loaves is your favourite? Milan’s purrfect sweet sourdough? Daze’s multigrain goodness? Nikolaj’s whole wheat loaf? Or Theo’s burnt to crisp breadsticks? 🥖

Ever wondered why cats do this?

🍞They feel safe! The loaf position is often seen when cats are resting in their favorite spots, where they feel safe and secure 💗

🍞They’re trying to stay warm! When you’re cold, you might put your hands inside your pockets to keep warm. That’s what a cat might be doing by tucking their paws under themselves 😌

🍞They’re ready to pounce! Some cats loaf to feel more protected when they feel threatened, even slightly. MCat loafing can help them protect from exposing their soft underbelly and keep them ready for anything 😼

🍞They're just relaxing! Just like hoomans, some kitties like to be a bit squeezed to relax. Some of them are quite comfortable with their paws and tail tucked in 🥰

On rare occasions loafing may be a sign that your kitty is unwell. Cats sometimes loaf to protect injured vital organs or may generally be in pain or stressed. If combined with other symptoms like shivering, lethargy, panting or even diarrhoea and vomiting, it may be time to get them in for a veterinary check up ⚕️

💞ADOPTION ALERT💞

Our babies, Catherine and Richard have found their furrever homes 💗💗

Both of these kitties were rescued by the pawsome Animal Welfare Officer, Zara Ma’am! They were found as vulnerable kittens, afraid and alone. While Catherine was found a bit sick, Richard had an injury to his left eye, which required a life-saving extirpation surgery. They were both taken to and treated at our NGO unit . Once declared fit and fine, they came to Cat Café Studio to find their furrever homes ✨

Catherine showed herself to be a regal princes 👑! She chose the coziest spots and showed off her pretty face to whoever wished to admire her. Richard was much more shy. He found a cubby and settled in, only letting you pet him after passing an extremely extensive sniff test 👀 CCS Hoomans didn’t have to take too long to help them out of their shell, as they caught a special someone’s eye quickly 🥹

Barely a few days after their arrival, Siddharth and his partner came by looking to adopt a kitty or two. It was purr at first sight when he met them! They captured his heart quickly, cementing their place in it. After going through our adoption process with flying colours, they headed home with their new pawrents 💖

Now in their own castle with their own hoomans, Richard & Catherine have blossomed! They are showered with love and warmth all day long. They have each other as well as loving hoomans. While single adoptions are always happy, doubles make our hearts swell with joy 🥰

🚨URGENT FOSTER/ADOPTION APPEAL🚨

Meet Stevie! Stevie was rescued by our CCS Hoomans, who found him orphaned and alone in the middle of the road. Kittens this young don’t just appear out of nowhere it was clear that Stevie was intentionally separated from his mother at an age when kittens tend to be extremely dependent 🥺

Relocating strays, rarely done with good intentions, can be disastrous, especially for a kitten as small as Stevie- they are too small, too defenceless to be able to protect themselves from the weather, traffic and other predators. Acting quick we immediately took him to safety 💗

After a quick check up at our NGO unit , Stevie was malnutritioned, dehydrated and belly full of worms. He received the appropriate treatment, TLC and was dewormed by the pawsome veterinary team ⚕️

As Stevie is 4 weeks old, he is too young to receive his vaccinations yet. Right now, we have no choice but to keep him in a cage to protect him from illness and other animals. He is litter-trained and currently on a wet food only diet. He is cute, loud and very playful. He loves to snuggle and hide under the blankets 🥹 He right now needs a safe and loving environment where he can be himself to his heart's content! Once he is a little older and bigger, not only will he receive his first round of vaccinations but also be big enough to get adopted!
