Showers generally make a bird look bad but this little one has some delayed moulting due to no showers. I bet she feels so much better now. Although her face says otherwise 🤣

We hate to have to beg for money but we are in need of vegetables and food in general. Please if you could spare some change we would greatly appreciate it. We have many birds for adoption right now but these take time and they are the funds that we usually rely on to keep the running costs down as all other costs come directly out of our own pockets.

EDUCATIONAL POST

We get asked so often how we get the feathers on the birds to look so well. There are multiple factors at work here.

Sunshine - not through a window
Varied diet of vegetables and fruit and depending on thr bird -nuts
Showering - I do not mean misting -I mean thr bird has to be soaked everywhere a minimum of twice a week.

Some birds don't like water. But without showering their skin becomes dry, moulting can be painful or not happen enough, dust build up, bad for human lungs and bird lungs and it's generally uncomfortable for them and can cause a heady smell.

So please shower your birds. Sometimes a small dog crate as you have seen in our previous videos is needed with the bottom tray removed for safe showering. Make sure its not too hot or cold. And remember it takes a minimum of 4 to 6 hours to dry fully so only in the mornings and left in a warm dry non breezy area to dry off

Abusive messages and threats will not be tolerated.

You will be blocked and banned.

We run a rescue. This is an extremely time consuming rescue and it is all voluntary.

We do not remember each person.

We do not house large birds with people without large bird experience and in some cases we do not rehome large birds with people who have experience but not with a particular breed or temperament. Each bird is placed depending on their needs.

If you message saying you want a bird that talks - you are automatically put on the black list.

If you threaten us we will screenshot your profile and any messages and report to the Garda. To say you will see us soon and show up to our homes where we have children is absolutly disgusting. You will be reported.

We are aware of slander about the rescue at the moment and this is being dealt with appropriately. If you hear something negative about us please remember to not be a sheep and make up your own mind -with facts

We are parents. I am a single parent. We work. We have lives outside of the rescue just like everyone else. We do consultations, care for the parrots here and more. We do not have all the time in the world.

Be like Swirl the budgie and learn to be an adult. We are not playschool teachers with naughty steps at hand
