Fireworks, costumes and a doorbell that never stops can all cause anxiety. The earlier you prepare, the better your pet will cope.

✅ Keep pets indoors after dark and close the curtains
✅ Set up a safe, quiet den where they can retreat
✅ Start calming aids in the lead-up, not on the night
✅ Check microchip details are up to date
✅ Keep chocolate and sweets out of reach

Worried about how your pet will cope this year? Contact your local Highfield Veterinary clinic for advice on calming aids, supplements, medication and desensitisation.

Lungworm cases are on the rise this autumn.

The stop-start grazing season, followed by rain after a dry spell, has created ideal conditions for hoose to spread across pasture. It's easy to put all our focus on calf pneumonia vaccination, but lungworm can be just as serious - causing real losses in thrive, performance, and in severe cases, calf deaths.

Watch for coughing, faster breathing, nasal discharge, or calves stretching their necks to breathe. Treatment matters too - heavy burdens treated with the wrong wormer can make calves sicker before they get better.

Seeing any of these signs? Give us a call before you dose.
