🐕 🐈‍⬛ ☀️ Hot Weather Warning ☀️ 🐈‍⬛ 🐕

Some tips to keep your pet safe during the warm weather.

▪️Walk your dog either early in the morning or late in the evening to avoid the hot midday sun.

▪️Ensure your pets have access to a shaded area.

▪️Ensure your pets have a constant supply of cold water both indoors and outdoors.

▪️Do not leave pets in the car, even with the windows down. Temperatures rise rapidly.

▪️Recognise the signs of heat stroke as outlined below.

**‼️Warning…,⚠️ Graphic wound images **

One of our Best Patients of the month LEONA . She is an ex racing Greyhound who took a fright and ran for miles causing terrible traumatic lesions on all 4 paws. These required twice weekly bandage changes for weeks . She was so so good every time she came in to get her dressings changed and the whole Ashwood team was involved. With her owners cooperation following our directions, our help with the cleaning and dressings and mother Nature’s healing ability, she is back running around without her fancy boots!🐎🐾🐕

🐣 Easter 🐣

A few tips to keep your furry friends safe this Easter.

With lots of easter eggs and treats around it is very important to keep them out of reach of your pets.

Even small amounts of chocolate can be toxic and can cause:

🔸Vomiting
🔸Diarrhoea
🔸Rapid Breathing
🔸Increased Heart Rate.
🔸Seizures

If you suspect your pet has eaten chocolate contact the clinic immediately.

🎉🥳We are celebrating World Down Syndrome Day in the clinic today. By wearing our mismatched, bright and quirky socks we are supporting and promoting inclusion and acceptance. We are blessed to have our gorgeous Aisling following her dreams. After finishing her leaving Cert Applied in June, she plans to go to college to study Animal Care. The team here at Ashwood are helping her follow her dream and reach her full potential in meaningful employment! As usual, we celebrate with food😉💜🐾🥗🍪. Happy WDSD!
