A local resident has pointed out that the tarmac on sections of the new Greenway is extremely hot today due to the intense temperatures expected.

Please be careful if walking your dog, as hot surfaces can quickly burn paws and the heat can become dangerous very fast for animals.

In weather like this, it’s generally best to walk dogs:
🌅 Early in the morning
🌙 Or later in the evening when temperatures are cooler

Please also make sure pets have plenty of water and shade during the day.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE!!

If you are walking a dog tomorrow or over the next few days - go out in the early morning or late evening when it’s cooler. DO NOT walk a dog during the hottest parts of the day.

Don’t run or cycle with your dog when it’s hot.

DO NOT leave them in the car or tied up in the heat!

Pavements can get very hot! You know the saying, "it's hot enough to fry an egg!" Imagine what that does to your poor dogs' feet! If the ground is too hot to touch with your hand for five seconds, it’s too hot for paws!

Very important information during warm weather for your animals!

☀️🐶 SUNSTROKE IN DOGS CAN BE FATAL 🐶☀️

As temperatures rise, our pets are at serious risk of heatstroke — especially brachycephalic breeds like Bulldogs, Pugs, and Frenchies, as well as older, overweight, or very young dogs.

🚨 Signs of heatstroke include:
• Excessive panting
• Drooling
• Bright red gums
• Weakness or collapse
• Vomiting or diarrhoea
• Confusion or seizures

🌡️ What to do immediately:
✅ Move your dog to a cool, shaded area
✅ Offer small amounts of cool water
✅ Wet them with cool (not ice-cold) water
✅ Use fans or air circulation
✅ Contact a vet URGENTLY

❌ Never leave dogs in parked cars — even for a few minutes.

💡 Prevention tips:
🐾 Walk early morning or late evening
🐾 Always provide shade and fresh water
🐾 Avoid excessive exercise in hot weather
🐾 Check pavement temperature before walks

Heatstroke is an emergency. Early treatment saves lives.

What a fantastic days training yesterday in Laois with the talented Valerie Khoo and Jo all the way from Malaysia 🇲🇾 thoroughly enjoyed the day we learned so much and more from the workshop and it was great to meet up with so many talented groomers again🐾🐩 and a little mention for my trusty model Rua who was the best fluff all day💚

Hi all, firstly my sincere apologies I have been so very quiet on here and haven’t posted in a while🙈 so here’s just a few furries from the last number of weeks!🥰

Secondly I would like to wish you all a very Happy Easter 🐣 🐰 I hope you all have a lovely weekend and eat your body weight in chocolate!🍫 🤣 there are no excuses not to eat chocolate this weekend!! Most importantly be very mindful of your furries over the next few days making sure they don’t get their paws on chocolate or any other Easter treats as most can be ver toxic and sickening for them!🐾

Fantastic day of learning today with the wonderful Stephanie and Tom Sswagd Education at WHO’S A GOOD DOG? Salon for the Bear Necessities Master Class, thoroughly enjoyed the day and took some great knowledge from the class! Thank so much again to Stephanie and Tom, and of course the lovely demo dogs Walter and Willow!🖤🩷

Hi all Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas/New Year! The book is now open for 2026 appointments!

I am working on furthering appointments for those of you who asked before Christmas so I will be in touch over the next few days with them! Those of you that haven’t gotten 2026 appointments yet please get in touch with your preferred day and time and I will do my best to facilitate you as mush as possible!

I am currently working through messages from the last few days, Spaces will fill up fast so don’t delay getting in touch and I will get back to you as soon as possible, please be patient!

Finally I look forward to seeing you all over the coming weeks and just a few things to recap on coming into the new year…

- I am CASH ONLY…no card/revolut, cheque or otherwise!

- No shows will result in the full charge of your dog’s missed appointments, payable before the next visit!

- Please arrive on time to appointment, if you at 15 minutes late your dog will not be groomed and will result in full payment for delayed appointment.

- Opening hours: Tuesday- Saturday 9am - 7pm CLOSED - Sunday and Monday, all calls/texts/messages will be answered within business hours.

Over and out for 2025!😌

Another year has come to a close here at the Fluff Shed after a busy few weeks all your lovely furries are now ready for the festivities🐾🐾

Where do I begin to Thank You all so very much for such a festive and upbeat last few weeks not to mention last year! The magnitude of love and support you’ve all shown me again this year has been incredible and I really do appreciate it all so much! ❤️

Once again you all have me spoilt rotten with such lovely gifts, bottles, sweets, treats and more 🙈 it will certainly keep the celebrations going and I will look forward to a bottle or two 😉🥂🍾 Thank you all so much 🥰 it goes without saying now that my behind the scenes team get a shout out because they have done trogon work yet again this year and last few weeks helping everything run smoothly🫶🏼

finally I am now closed until January 9th for a well deserved break😌 and to enjoy the festivities🥂 I will open my books for 2026 in the beginning of January and will send a text and post here for that!
