During my time as head dog trainer at DSPCA I developed a passion for scent training. I graduated from the prestitiogus Academy for Dog Trainers in 2014.

Dogs experience the world through scent, my goal is to provide fun opportunities for dogs and owners to experience this world together. I have also trained in scent detection in the Netherlands with the amazing SDA. More recently qualifying as a mantailing instructor with Rachel and the team at K9 Detect & Find in Wexford.

We said a fond farewell to Gwen, my constant companion and dearest love. Demo dog and capabable class assistant. Over 13 years she patiently enjured changing techniques and training methods as we honed our craft. Gwen loved food but was no connoisseur! Run free little one.

Did an RTE Brainstorm podcast last weekend about Pawsence, the scent detection project I'm working on with DCU and Dogs for the Disabled. I'll share the link once it comes out. (if I sound OK 😳 )

The scent work effect 😀 What do your dogs look like after trailing or detection sessions?

Mixed surface trailing this morning. Brilliant progress with all teams nailing their respective challenges.

Goodbye mother. Oh no no, we are fine here all by ourselves, you go play with other dogs and give them treats.
