A lovely feature in this week’s Irish Field highlights a win for one of Grandpas Rebel’s first crop, with Maggie Rose Brennock taking victory. Notably, second place went to a Rebel Mountain owned by Celine Salter.

It is great to see Grandpas Rebel’s youngstock beginning to prove themselves in the eventing field, while Rebel Mountain’s legacy continues alongside them.

~Financial Reward~
Financial Reward was the Croker Cup Champion in 2011.

Financial Reward possess looks, movement and athleticism to produce progeny to excel in any equestrian discipline.

In 2024 Financial Reward enjoyed notable success at the highest level courtesy of his son Bloomfield Manuscript and his daughter Clever trick. Clever trick featured on the Irish gold winning team at Military Boekelo and also placed highest of the Irish team for her rider Susie Berry. Bloomfield Manuscript who formally won the 4yo lightweight hunter class in the Rds, demonstrated his ability to turn his hoof to anything as he enjoyed success winning the CCI L 3* in Millstreet, he then repeated that feat by winning the CCI S 3* in lisgarvan house, before stepping up to CCI S 4* at Blenheim palace international horse trials and securing a top 5 finish.

A winner of five races including a grade 2 over fences when in training with Willie Mullins, this further demonstrates Financial Reward’s longevity and temperament.

Financial Reward has sired multiple show champions including all Ireland, Balmoral and Rds champions.

In 2025 Financial reward was the Sire of both limerick lady and Limerick Matron champions Kilcahill Ruby and Greenhall Push button. Kilcahill Ruby enjoyed notable success in 2025 also standing reserve champion two year old in the Rds and winning the 2yo filly class in Balmoral. Financial Reward was also the Damsire to two Rds youngstock winners in 2025.

PJ’s Promise is standing 148cms and has great temperament, movement and jump. He attended IPS Wicklow Spring show and was crowned inhand champion.

He is a TIH with old performance lines. PJ is a full brother to Fernhill the wild card eventing successfully in the USA.

He will be available for the 2026 season

Rebel mountain 2003 - 2026

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Rebel this morning. He lived a long and remarkable life, leaving behind a legacy.

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who bred from Rebel Mountain throughout his incredible 20-year career. His influence can be seen in his stock across the world, and his impact will not be forgotten.

We are incredibly fortunate that his legacy continues through his only Class 1 son, Grandpas Rebel.

Rest easy, Rebel.

A great result for Clogheen Captain Jack with two of his first crop being the highest placed four year olds at the qualifier and both qualifying for Balmoral.

Huge congratulations to all involved in the production and showing the horses and of course to the breeders.

A great start to what will hopefully be a successful year for Clogheen Captain Jack.

This foal is sired by Financial Reward sire of 4* event mare Clever Trick who represented Ireland at the European eventing championship in France this year.

The foals dam is by Rebel mountain whose son Coolaneen Rebel who was on the Irish pony eventing team who won bronze in the european Championships.

The foals dam Ballinglen Cruise girl is a half sister to Lowhill Glenard Lad who showjumped to Grand Prix level amassing over 700sji points, Ballinglen Cruise Girl is also a half sister to Castlekelly River and Glenard lightening both of whom evented to 2* level. This foals Grandam Glenard Pippi is by Cruising.

He has a great temperament and great movement and is available at weaning.

Super day yesterday with both fillies winning their classes and taking home some silverware. Kilmacanogue was in the morning and then we were at the IDHBA Tipperary Branch show in the evening.

A brilliant result at Kilbride Show this weekend, Glens Rebel by Grandpas Rebel won the South East Ridden Irish Draught Championship.

He is owned by Thomas Tutty and was ridden by Aubrey Chapman, congratulations to all involved.
