SLIGO LOCALS, WE NEED YOUR HELP! There is a swan with a fishing hook stuck in its mouth at Doorly Park and it won't survive unless we get it in our care. For this, we need numbers and even better if there is someone with a boat to assist with the rescue! We will be meeting at 11am tomorrow at the jetty to try and catch him and remove the hook and tend to his injuries. If you can't help or make it to Doorly Park, please share this post, we'd be extremely appreciative! 🦢

Today, we got two separate calls for some ducklings who were roaming around Wine Street, seven in one group, and one poor little baby who had gotten separated from both his siblings and his Mama. A huge shout-out to both Edwina and Rose, who managed to scoop them up and get in touch with us. Although it will be tough without Mama, we're delighted that we could reunite all of the babies. It will be a tough few weeks rearing these little fellas, but we'll give them all of our best! 🦆

Someone has found their new home and gotten a new brother! Delighted for our gorgeous boy Bruno and his new family. We wish him and his family the absolute best! 💙

This adoption appeal is the closest to our hearts 🩵

Bruno is a 3 year old Beagle/Collie mix. He is a hugely affectionate, energetic and clever boy. He loves walks and is great with kids and other dogs. He needs a new home due to the owners recent move to a smaller residence with no back garden/space.

We have known Bruno since a pup and would love for him to find a loving family who can give him the home he deserves. If we didn't have 3 large dogs ourselves already, we'd take him in a heartbeat.

This is Blackie. He is 16 years old and has been an indoor dog all his life. He is housetrained and loves walks and the outdoors. He is very hard of hearing but good eyesight. He can sleep a lot during the day on and off . He is excellent around other dogs. Would suit couple in retirement or adults that are home a lot of the day. Excellent with the elderly. Not suitable for kids.

Wishing to re-home blackie to a kind , special loving home that he can spend his last few years with. Prefers a calm , relaxed environment.

He loves company and lots of love.

You couldn't make up the timing on this rescue! Late last night, we received a call-out for a deer that had fallen into the river near Ballisodare. This poor fella was exhausted but had enough strength to stand, and as he was on the riverbank, it was initially decided to let him have time and space to recuperate. Today, however, he hadn't advanced, and upon close inspection, it was apparent he has suffered some injuries, likely from being hit by a car before entering the river. He was retrieved and is now under our care. We will be keeping him warm and feeding him up as we assess him for further injuries.

A massive shout-out to for getting in touch with us and helping with every step of the rescue. We would also like to thank Kamila and Maja for watching over him and for naming him Angus. We are very hopeful for Angus' rehabilitation and that he'll be back with his family in time for Christmas 🎄🦌

This morning, we released our Swan from last night's late rescue. We will be monitoring him to make sure he continues to thrive, and hopefully, there won't be any more severe winds to blow him wayward before he has gained more valuable flying experience. Thanks again to all who got in touch 🦢

Tonight was a late night call out for this young Swan who crash-landed in a back garden due to inexperience and the intense fog. Thankfully, he hasn't sustained any injuries and should be ready to be released back to his natural home tomorrow. Pending another welfare check in the morning, he will hopefully be reunited with his family again. Thanks to everyone who got in touch to help this beautiful animal. 🦢

Whilst we have had to take a step back from rescuing for the past number of months following the arrival of our little lady, today we were called to help out an injured fox by Megan who was in dire need of a quick rescue and veterinary treatment. Thankfully, he was very easily secured and brought to Crowes Veterinary Clinic, who were able to see to his injuries and start him on a dose of antibiotics. We are very hopeful that this lovely chap will make a full recovery 🦊
