Please remember to keep your dog safe in the heat!!

Even temperatures that feel manageable to us can be dangerous for dogs - especially when it comes to walks. Hot pavements can burn paws, and dogs can quickly become overheated, which can sadly be life-threatening.

Here are a few simple ways to help keep your dog cool:

Make sure fresh water is always available 💧

Walk dogs early in the morning or later in the evening ☀️

Avoid hot pavements and strenuous exercise

Never leave dogs in a parked car🚗

Provide cool, shaded areas to rest

If your dog shows signs of heatstroke, including excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting, or collapse.

⚠️ Reminder, DO NOT walk your pets in these weather conditions, your dog can get heatstroke from any temperature that is over 20 degrees! ☀️ 🐶 Walk them in cooler times for example evenings or early mornings ☀️

As temperatures rise, so does the risk of flystrike for our fluffy companions. Flystrike, a potentially fatal condition, occurs when flies lay eggs on a rabbit's fur, which then hatch into maggots and feed on their flesh.

🔍Keep a close eye on your rabbit's hygiene and living environment, especially during warmer months.

Regularly check for any signs of soiled fur, wounds, or unusual behaviour.

✅Prevention is key: ensure your rabbit's living space is clean and dry, and consider using flystrike prevention methods recommended by your vet.
