This Husky got out of the back garden this morning after someone broke into the property and fled leaving the back gate open.

The dog has a red tumour on her head.

WILDLIFE RESCUE - Thursday May 14th, 2026 - Orphaned Chick found at Oldbridge Co Meath

Many may remember the video of the hairless chick we posted on our page that was rescued by a member of the public.

The chick was transferred to a wildlife rehabilitator, Sophie in Kells, who in turn transferred the young chick to Kildare Wildlife Rescue (KWR).

Can you guess what species of bird he is? He is doing very well with the round the clock care by KWR 🙏. Here is an updated photo of him, and he is in fact a HOODED CROW 🐦‍⬛ 🖤

This dog was reported this evening leaving the Highland Estate heading down to the river. No collar.

WE ARE TRULY EXHAUSTED & SADDENED BY THE NUMBER OF CATS & KITTENS LEFT TO FEND FOR THEMSELVES AND MOST LIKELY LEFT TO DIE

This Persian X Breed cat in very poor condition gave birth to six kittens on Wednesday May 20th, 2026 in the back garden of a local resident in Moorland, Dundalk Co Louth. Sadly three died. 😔

Today, DAR took in the family into their care after a vet visit. Mammy is in such poor condition from rough living and lack of food, she isn't producing enough milk for her little family.

So ... it's bottle feeding for one of our volunteers. We hope & pray that these kittens will survive. The video of the kittens is too distressing to share.

Mammy is very placid & quiet, and doing her best to care for her kittens with all the reserves she has left in her little body.

We are not sure how much more we can take folks. The suffering of animals is very hard to see and stomach. It affects those involved in animal rescue - greatly.

NUN's WALK DROGHEDA CO LOUTH CAT REPORTEDLY HAVING KITTENS IN SOMEONE's GARDEN IS MYSTIFIED - He is a Male Tom! 😂😹

Yes, we received a call about a cat having kittens in someone's garden and were requested to take the cat away PRONTO!

Well, on Wednesday February 11th, 2026, we collected the alleged mother in the middle of giving birth only to find out that this cat was indeed a neutered TOM who had been through the wars. He is as mystified as we are, but there you go.

Now, he may have been responsible for spreading his DNA around the place in the past but he knows this for sure - a birthing mother he is not!

We have no name for him other than the 'Nun's Walk Stray Cat'. He is super friendly so must have been someone's cat.

Unfortunately, because he was left to fend for himself - he fought with other cats and sadly contracted the Feline Immunocompromised Virus (FIV).

He is fully vaccinated & microchipped. And we are looking for a new home for this super friendly feline.

➡️ Single Cat Home or with another FIV positive cat

Pepsi is full of personality – quirky, charming and always curious about the world around her. She absolutely loves being up high, keeping watch like a little queen of her domain. You’ll often find her gazing out from a perch or enjoying a drink straight from the tap or a water fountain (she has great taste!). Playtime is also a favourite — she enjoys chasing balls and toys across the floor with sudden bursts of energy. Pepsi has a curious side and enjoys a gentle ramble around the garden, taking in the sights and sounds of the outside world. When it’s time to relax, Pepsi seeks out a quiet, hidden spot where she can curl up for a peaceful nap. She’s gentle and social too. She has the sweetest rumbling purr and really enjoys being brushed, making her a perfect companion for calm, cozy moments.
She’s a lovely mix of playful spirit and serene affection — a truly special girl.
Pepsi says; My turn please. My last people moved and could not take me with them. I don’t know why. I was with them from when I was a kitten and now I am six years old. They said they loved me. I am a very young 6 year old, please give me a chance. My absolute favourite spot is relaxing and sleeping on the windowsill.

🆘 EDDIE STILL NEEDS A NEW SITUATION - Landlords are at it once again 😔 and the clock ⏰ is ticking ... and still no interest. His life is in jeopardy.

The owner of Eddie asked us for help as his rented accommodation is being sold, and he has until the end of the month (May) to find Eddie a new situation.

Unfortunately, Dogs Trust cannot help, and the dog pound said the dog would most likely be euthanised if he was surrendered to them.

THERE MUST BE SOMEONE OUT THERE FOR EDDIE

This is what we know about him.

➡️ Collie X Lab - 7 YO Male. Neutered, vaccinations not up to date. Microchipped. Friendly & has a lovely temperament. Good with people, children, and other dogs. No experience around cats.

INTRODUCING TWO BROTHERS NEW TO THE RESCUE - ZIGGY & SIMBA THE RIVERBANK SURRENDER KITTENS 🖤

These two brothers along with their Calico sisters were surrendered to DAR on Friday April 17th, 2026. It is estimated they were born on December 01st, 2025 so are 5-months now.

They are NOW fully vaccinated, neutered & microchipped and READY for ADOPTION!

Although the brothers initially hated each other, they are now best buddies. They can be rehomed together or separately - we don't think there will be any love loss.

Here's a bit about them;

🖤 SIMBA - long hair fluffy b/w guy is feisty and assertive.

🖤 ZIGGY- short hair b/w chap is shy. His guy-liner beats JD Vance's paws down!
