This junior kitten is hanging around someone's place in Clogherhead Co Louth. Not feral but scared, frightened, nervous.

We'd like to help s/he have a better life, but as many of you know, DAR is homeless too.

It's OFFICIAL! Kitten Season is ALL YEAR AROUND! 😫 May we present Baby Luna - found on the road just outside Newgrange, Co Meath. Estimated to be 6-8 Weeks Old.

Small, cute, wobbly, may be vision impaired... it's early days yet. Fortunately, this little lady found a foster home with the lovely Violetta & Family, who are new to the DAR FAMILY OF FOSTERERS. After fostering four kittens for us, they were only too delighted to take on this little lost kitten. We know she will be well looked after. 😊

A FEW PEOPLE WERE ASKING ABOUT TED THE TERRIER, SO HERE YE GO ... fingers crossed 🤞🏼 he finds a new home.

TED THE TERRIFIC TERRIER - LOOKING FOR A NEW HOME 🤎🧡

HIS STORY - Ted was found on Sunday May 12th, 2024 running along the road dragging a garden lounge chair that had become entangled in a tether tied to Ted's collar. There had been thunder that day which frightened little Ted and caused him to run for his dear life. FAST FORWARD - Ted did his time in the county dog pound but his owner was located who surrendered him in the best interests of Ted as he needs a secure garden.

A CHECKERED PAST - We found out that Ted came from the notorious Ashton Dog Pound where he was huddled in the corner of his cell shaking with fear. He was adopted from the pound but his history before being picked up by the dog warden is unknown but we sense that it wasn't good.

ABOUT TED - Ted is a super little dog. Quiet, clean, very affectionate, overly submissive, funny, doesn't chew or tear things apart, low barker, loves to sleep, high prey drive, needs a secure garden, loves adventures, best as the only dog, definitely no cats or small furry animals, very soft & sensitive, unknown around children, fantastic companion dog.

✅ Estimated to be 4-5 years of age

SANTA BUNS BAKERY - Saturday December 06th, 2025 - Raises €158.50 for DAR🌲 ☕️ 🧁

Buns Bakery hosted a Santa Paws for Pooches in aid of DAR. The Coffee Shop, located at Beechgrove Terrace at the Roundabout, DROGHEDA Co Louth, raised €158.50 for our rescue and we are greatly appreciative of this fantastic fund raising venture. 🙏

Pictured with Santa Paws is Little Milo, a 7-yo DAR dog who is currently in foster care waiting for a home of his own. 😊

TED THE TERRIER - STILL LOOKING FOR A NEW HOME BY THE WAY - WISHES Everyone a Happy Christmas & Peaceful New Year but he has a few things to say ...

Ted is a very quiet & unassuming little guy as he knows what it is like to be a dog rescued from circumstances beyond his control and has recurring shivers & shakes when reminded of times in the past when he wasn't treated so well. So, he appreciates all the hard work our volunteers do working for dogs like Ted.

Ted wishes to thank EVERYONE for supporting DAR and make no mistake about it, DAR will still be working throughout the Christmas Holidays.

So, please be patient with DAR. They've a lot on their plates but animals in need don't know this. If you have sent DAR a message, email, or left a phone message that they haven't responded to yet, send a little reminder as they have to prioritise urgent cases, and have limited resources to deal with the myriad of queries received every single day.

So from Ted and All of Us at DAR ... STAY WARM, STAY SAFE, & BE BEST. 😊

HELP NEEDED‼️ - SHORT TERM FOSTER HOME BEING SOUGHT FOR DAR DOG MILO FROM Sunday Dec 21st to Wednesday Dec 24th, 2025

We are looking for a short-term foster home for Milo here. His DAR fosterer needs to attend a family bereavement, so help is needed.

Milo currently lives with other dogs. He is not neutered just yet. He is a very friendly and sociable dog. No experience around cats.
