We’re shining a light on the incredible work veterinary nurses do every single day, especially the work that often goes unseen. From anaesthetic monitoring and radiology, to nursing clinics, blood sampling, patient care, and supporting pets through recovery, veterinary nurses are at the heart of animal care. 🩺🐶🐱

They comfort nervous patients, support worried owners, keep clinics running smoothly, and somehow manage to do it all at once. 😅

Their compassion, skill, and dedication make a difference to every pet that walks through the door, even when much of their work happens behind the scenes.

On this gorgeous Monday afternoon and,to our new member Monday slot we welcome Bluestack Veterinary Clinic - Donegal Town/Ballybofey to our business chamber! Established a good number of years ago but having setup on Donegal Road here in the twin towns in 2024 this husband and wife duo are steadily building up a very professional and friendly service. John & Catherine Mc Aloon are both very hands on and, they’ve a fantastic team employed to their Ballybofey clinic . Seen here is Charlotte accepting the honours. The biggest post-op issue we see isn’t infection — it’s too much activity, too soon. Pain meds mask discomfort, so pets feel better before they are better.
Jumping, twisting, launching off furniture can lead to:
• Wound breakdown
• Inflammation
• Delayed healing
• Painful scarring later on
Healing isn’t just skin-deep — it takes time.

⚠️🐾 Common Foods That Are Toxic to Dogs

Some everyday foods can be harmful, or even life-threatening for your dog. Here are a few to watch out for:

🍫 Chocolate
🍇 Grapes & raisins
🧅 Onions & garlic
🍬 Xylitol (found in sugar-free gum & sweets)
🍷 Alcohol
☕ Caffeine

Even small amounts can cause serious illness, so it’s best to keep these well out of reach.

🚨 Signs of poisoning may include vomiting, diarrhoea, lethargy, tremors, or seizures.

If you think your dog has eaten something they shouldn’t, contact us immediately—quick action is key.
