💔💔💔💔 ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! 💔💔💔💔
Every single day, we fight. We fight to save them, to heal them, to give them the love they have never known. But the suffering never stops. This poor pony, left to rot in filth, trapped and forgotten—how many more must suffer before real change happens?
This pony is in LIMERICK, at a boarded up house on oliver plunkett street st Mary's park.
We have shouted. We have begged. We, like so many others, have been screaming into the void—pleading for action, demanding justice for these innocent souls. And yet, we have not been heard.
That changes now.
We will no longer just shout. We will speak, and we WILL be heard. We will make those in power listen. We have spent a lot of time working on this and now we are ready to push forward.
In the coming weeks, we plan to take this directly to the new government we are seeking:
🐾 Stronger laws and enforcement for dog control
🐎 Better regulations and penalties for horse welfare violations
🐶 Stricter oversight to end unethical dog breeding
This is not just a campaign. This is a movement. Our fight starts NOW.
To every animal who has suffered, who has been forgotten, who has died waiting for help that never came—we see you, and we will not fail you.
But we need YOU. We need your voices. Share this. Speak out. Stand with us. Let’s shake the walls of those in power until they have no choice but to listen.

If you remember Elvey taken in to our care early July this year, orphaned at a couple of days old.

Everyone rallied to help him and accept bottle milk instead of his Mum 😔

He is now 4.5 months old and doing so well.

The cost is huge and we do need your help, while we will give our time and dedication we couldn't cover this cost of raising an orphan foal without all of you.

Meet Stan. Stan is six years old with a date of birth of 2018. Stan came into our care in 2020 and was in poor condition. Stan is now a sweet pony who would really love to find his forever home. Stan is approx 11.2 - 12 hands. Stan is good to catch, lead and groom. Stan needs time and patience with the farrier and he is improving with every visit. Stan would really thrive in a new home where he would receive 1:1 attention.
We would love for Stan to find a home where someone could start some training with him.

A member of the public contacted us today, they were told about a black bag with a hoof sticking out on Rathcooney Road. When they went to check this tiny little body was inside.

What happened to this poor baby? Where is Mum has she had vet attention?

Bedding shavings on the body shows they were in the care of somebody??

Part and parcel of horse ownership is you must appropriately dispose of their carcass if they die or are euthanized.

Dumping them at the side of the road for someone else to pick up is disgusting behaviour and shows a complete disrespect for animals.

This poor donkey was seized by authorities and came into our care, how could we say no 💔

Poor Donkey, nothing to eat, no water, tied to an old broken down car!

LATE NIGHT EMERGENCY 💔💔💔💔 Late last night our Cork MLHR Team rushed to save a foal that had been dumped in a field 💔💔💔 Found struggling, only a few days old 💔💔 The team have been with him all night, along with our vet to try get the poor little mite to drink. What happened to his poor mum? What absolute monster did this to an innocent baby? This is Ireland, it’s out of control. We desperately need a @garda crime unit. Our Nemo, the best boy so kind and loving. He's now a buddy for Angie's yearling. A few years ago she had our Ben and he lived the best life. Today we had a call to help a 5/6 week old orphan foal. Of course there was no hesitation from the team. We have him safe now and he's had his first sip of replacer milk. He is so exhausted poor little baby. He's calling for his Mum who won't answer him again but he has us and lots of rescues who he will make friends with. Name suggestions are very welcome!!! Happiness is..

Today we received the loveliest Easter greeting from Theodore in Germany with Kati & family 🥰 Theodore entered our care in 2020 from the pound. A baby, emaciated, heavy worm burden so obviously taken too young from his Mum and discarded, uncared for & unloved. He collapsed immediately on entry to our farm. He was so weak he just lay there unable to get up. We called our vet and he attended giving vitamin & IV drip hoping to boost his system. Days went into several weeks and we had to make a rota for people to get Theodore up, every time he lay down he could not stand up again by himself. A careful re feeding regime along with a daily stretch of legs to build his muscle tone he began to improve. He became the character of the farm. Loved by volunteers and visitors alike. He slowly transformed and eventually was strong enough that we could talk about his rehoming.. In 2022 Kati applied to make Theodore part of their family in Germany, there was a lot to consider considering his age and all he had been through but we were satisfied he was strong enough to go and Kati had enough experience and love to adopt him. Once Irelands discarded and neglected little cob has turned into a much loved and treasured family member in Germany 🥰 Proud is an understatement for everyone at MLHR. Please help us continue this work, There are horses and ponies just like Theodore today who will die unless they can get the care they need. This costs money!!! When that sunny morning arrives after a very long winter 🥰 We opened the gate to the grass this morning so our residents are on day release from winter quarters! Our supervisor Philip is there to keep watch for us for the day 😁😁😁
