At country Tails Home Boarding we aim to provide your faithful friend with all the comforts of home in a stress free, kennel free environment. Whether it's for their annual holiday, a long weekend or just a day away, we have it all from socialised play to relaxing on the couch in front of the T.V and fire! Owned and run by Mary and Denise Lafford
, a mother and daughter team, we have many years combined experience in dealing with animals. Denise is a qualified Veterinary Nurse and is currently studying Canine Behaviour and Training. Mary has a degree in Zoology and is also qualified in the area of microbiology and infection control. We are also both qualified Canine First Responders. Our ethos at Country Tails is to promote the safety, health and wellbeing of all our furry friends through closely supervised social interaction, stimulating and mind challenging games and above all lots of TLC! All of our newcomers undergo a 1 day temperament assessment in order to ensure their suitability for a home boarding environment. All dogs coming to stay with us must hold a fully up to date vaccination certificate to include a Kennel Cough vaccine and must also be treated for parasites (fleas and worms) on a regular basis (at least every 3 months). All dietary and medicinal needs are catered for but food and medication is supplied by the dogs' owner. At Country Tails, puppies can enjoy the benefits of early socialisation with other dogs of similar age which is essential to the making of a well balanced and friendly dog in the future. Our day visitors are treated to an action packed programme which combines socialisation with basic training and promotion of good behaviour achieved through the use of play and positive reinforcement reward based methods. Our overnight friends can enjoy the same benefits as our day visitors as well as long country walks and relaxing in a calm environment at the end of a busy day. Our fully equipped indoor facility has all the comforts of home including T.V, couches, soft chairs and of course a cosy fire for the cold evenings. Your dogs' health and happiness is of utmost importance to us and we do all in our power to provide this. Here's what some of our already satisfied customers have to say about us! "Country Tails….. 5 star service
Since Sammy came into our lives, he is our pride and joy. A Bichon Frise with buckets of energy. I had heard of Doggy Day Care and Country Tails was suggested to me as a great place to help to socialise him. They do not keep them in Kennels but allow them to roam in their very secure environment with plenty of playtime and activities to keep them amused. I have been taking Sammy to Country Tails for the past 2 years. It was the best decision I ever made and we are loving the experience. They are treated as one of the family. On the days he goes to Country Tails when he get up he checks the table to see if his backpack is there and then he knows he is going. The car trip is hilarious because he is whining with excitement and he tries to see around the bends until we get to the gates. He then bangs on the window when he sees the staff coming out and almost leaps into their arms. He comes home in the evening very relaxed and contented. What more could you ask for? He goes 4 days a week and sometimes it seems that it is never enough as he acts bored at home. The staff are brilliant and highly skilled and trained. The set up is 5 star and he loves the nights he has his sleepovers. I would highly recommend Country Tails" MA
"We have been using Country Tails for over 18 months now and wouldn't send our dogs anywhere else! Mary and Denise provide a great service. Both our dogs Ella and Django get excited when we even whisper their names! They can wait to visit Auntie Mary! Unlike many kennels, they get to socialise with other dogs throughout the day and sleep indoors at night. The fact that Denise is a veterinary nurse is an added bonus, we know our dogs are in safe hands. We would highly recommend their service" :-) - Ann and Eamon
