🐾 Flea & Tick Season is Here – What You Need to Know 🐾
As the warmer months roll in, so do unwanted guests like fleas and ticks. These pests can cause discomfort, skin irritation, and more serious health issues for your dog. Here’s how you can help keep your furry friend safe and comfy:
🦟 Prevention is key:
Speak to your vet about the best flea and tick prevention for your dog – whether it's a spot-on treatment, tablet, or collar. Regular prevention is the most effective way to protect your pet year-round.
🔍 How to check your dog:
Make a habit of running your hands through your dog’s coat, especially after walks or time spent outdoors. Pay extra attention to the ears, neck, armpits, and between the toes. Use a fine-tooth comb to help detect fleas or flea dirt (tiny black specks). Ticks often look like small bumps and can be found attached to the skin.
💈 At the salon:
We don’t charge extra for tick removal – if we find one during a groom, we’ll take care of it for you.
However, if your dog arrives with fleas, you will be contacted and asked to collect them immediately. Unfortunately, we cannot continue the groom, as this would risk cross-contamination to other dogs. The salon will need to be closed and professionally flea bombed, and this will incur a fee starting at €25.
🛑 Please check your dog before dropping them off for grooming. It helps us keep the salon a safe and happy place for all our four-legged visitors.
