Some helpful tips below when looking for lodgings for your dog/s

I’ve had conversations this week with dog owners that didn’t know it’s the LAW to have a license from your local authority to board dogs in your home for DAY and OVERNIGHT care.

All listed boarders in this group hold a boarding/day care license.

Make sure the business displays their licensed number on their social media pages/website ✅

It is required that the business also displays their certificate on their premises ✅

Overnight trial session ✅

As for references ✅

All licensed dog boarders are listed on your local authority’s website ✅

If anything happens to your dog in their care IF they don’t have a license then no insurance policy will pay out.

For any insurance company to sell boarding-day care insurance they need a license number.

With a professional background in animal behaviour, I’m in a privileged position to offer physiotherapy support even for animals with more complex or challenging behavioural needs. I am a qualified Veterinary Physiotherapist with a background in canine behaviour. I ran Schooling 4 Dogs, a behaviour and training company based in Brighton, for a decade and have experience with a wide range of problematic behaviours.

I offer full physiotherapy assessments and tailored treatment plans for a wide range of conditions and species. I also offer assessment-only sessions for dogs already under the care of a Behaviourist who may struggle with more hands-on therapeutic work.

As with people, there is a strong and well-evidenced link between pain and behaviour in animals. Problematic behaviours often have a medical origin or influence, and successful behaviour modification frequently requires collaboration between Behaviourists, Veterinarians, and Veterinary Physiotherapists to investigate and address any underlying causes of discomfort or pain.

A responsible Behaviourist will always seek veterinary referral before commencing behavioural work. They may also recommend Physiotherapist assessment to evaluate posture, gait and physical condition, identifying any further issues that could be influencing the animal’s behaviour.
