Rug Shield

Rug Shield is a new revolutionary waterproofing spray for use on horse rugs, restoring their water repellency and extending the life of the rug.

Its water based and easy to use with no nasty chemicals. Proudly made in the UK! I've spent years riding and owning horses, and I was constantly annoyed by waterproofing products that failed. They made rugs heavy, they stayed damp, and worst of all, they left my horses cold. I couldn't stand the waste of money and material—throwing away perfectly good rugs just because their waterproofing was shot. I knew there had to be a better way, so I created Rug Shield. It's a high-performance solution designed specifically for horse rugs. I made sure it's lightweight, easy to use, and, most importantly, that it actually works to keep horses warm and dry

🐴 Did You Know? A Dirty Horse Rug Can Do More Harm Than Good

Your horse’s rug works hard every day—but when it’s clogged with mud, sweat, grease, and hair - it can’t do its job properly.

Here’s why regular cleaning and reproofing matters:

✅ Restores breathability to help prevent overheating.
✅ Removes bacteria, sweat and mould that can irritate your horse’s skin.
✅ Reproofing helps keep your horse dry by restoring the rug’s waterproof finish.
✅ Extends the life of your rugs, saving you money in the long run.

💡 Top Tip: If water no longer beads on the surface and soaks straight into the fabric, it’s time for a clean and reproof!

💬 Question of the day: Have you checked your horse’s rugs ready for the next season yet?
