There’s an easy way to add a layer of protection, and it’ll take you less than 5 seconds! Just tell me to add on the tick and flea prevention shampoo and I’ll do the hard work for you!

☀️ The salon is now closed for annual leave… and I am ready for it!

I’ve got some time off to relax, regroup and get a massage! 💆🏻‍♀️

If your message is urgent please email [email protected] otherwise messages will be replied to once the salon reopens on Tuesday 15th July.

I will be at The Bourne End Community market on Saturday 12th (come see me!) and there are scheduled posts for everyday over on fortheloveofdouglas … I’d appreciate the continued interactions with the posts to get the algorithms going! 🖤

I’d also like to say a huge thank you for the support regarding my cancellation policy post. I’ve had so many people mention it when they’ve come in since and message me with encouragement and agreeing with me- it means everything knowing you’re all on my side and have got my back 💕

📸 A picture of Douglas, because it’s been a difficult week in our house without him this week and because why not?!

This chair is the only place in the house we say no dogs. They’re allowed in every room, on the sofas and all the beds. He knew this one chair is out of bounds… but when a comfy chair is calling, a comfy chair is calling so he stuck two fingers up and did it anyway! The face says it all- Mr Woof It took the picture and Douglas is definitely thinking “you’re going to dob me in to mum now aren’t you?!” (Spoiler alert I got sent the picture whilst at work!😂) 🖤🖤

Welcome to the Woof It Family Peggy! 💖

What a bundle of joy she was!

Peggy will be visiting every 6-8 weeks and is already part of the Because I Book It membership 💕

Any guesses on what breed Peggy is? 👀

‼️ Peggy’s older brother Ollie if already part of the family and because he is a Book It member, Peggy got automatically enrolled months before her arrival. Please note I am otherwise currently only taking on short haired dogs (eg Labradors, Frenchies Staffies etc) 🫶🏽

I realised driving home last night that’s I’ve been in the salon for 8 years now! 😱 and grooming for 11 years! Not sure how that happened! 🩷

Day 1 of reminding the world about my terms and conditions to ensure clarity and transparency 🩷

If you buy a plane ticket and you get ill, you accept you lose the money.

If you book a non-refundable hotel room & you are ill, you know the hotel won’t refund you.

If you get a takeaway & when it arrives decide that actually you don’t want it anymore- you can’t give it back.

If you buy tickets for a concert or show, but your plans change. You don’t get your money back.

If you book sports tickets, but change your mind, your team won’t give you your money back.

If you order food to be delivered by a supermarket or recipe service and forget to cancel. They will still deliver and charge you.

And, you guessed it, if you book an appointment with Because I’m Woof It and are too ill to come, or your dog is ill, or your plans change, or your car breaks down, or you forgot to cancel, or you’re on holiday or whatever the reason.. I still require paying.

My terms and conditions for moving / cancelling appointments are:

•Cancellation 2 days before = 50% of grooming price. Day before or day of= 100%.
Teeth cleaning is 3 days before or less=
100% •

This is never ever a secret- I’m very open about this.

How do I convey this message?
✨ It’s in the terms and conditions you sign as a grooming / teeth cleaning customer
✨There is a big sign up in the salon
✨The information is in all of your appointment confirmation emails
✨It is in each reminder text that you receive the day before each appointment

Please do not be surprised when I expect paying as per the T&Cs or send an invoice for payment. I have financial commitments just like everyone else.

I understand that some people may not agree with this & if you feel that we don’t align as a business & customer, please let me know & I can recommend someone who might be better suited to you.

Thank you to 90% of my customers who never let me down & if it ever does happen (because life happens and I get that!) but you then make sure I have payment on the same day, no questions and are fully supportive. You are my people 🩷

Welcome to Team Woof It Bonnie 💕

Lovely to meet this sweet girl this week for a full groom (yup, short haired dogs need grooming too!)

I am currently only taking on naturally short haired dogs like Bonnie (not clipped short).

I have very limited availability for a couple of short haired dogs in August and then bookings are from September onwards.. just in time for the next shedding season! 🍂

🥵 HOT WEATHER REMINDER 🥵

As we’re now officially in our week of British summer, just a reminder of few points if you’re visiting this week…

☀️ I am very lucky that my salon stays pretty cool for most of the day. It doesn’t hold the heat well which is great this time of year!

☀️ I take measures in the salon the keep your pups cool- the bath temp is turned down, dryers set to cool air, lots of water around and I have lots of towels which I can dip in cool water for your dogs to stand on during grooming/ lay on after - although I have a concrete floor so it’s always cold like a giant cool mat!

☀️ Some dogs may leave damp. Especially those that don’t require clipping. They will dry off pretty quickly in this weather and it just means there is less need for the dryer to be on them. This will DEFINITELY happen if your dog is Brachycephalic, a puppy or old.

☀️ If you dog is showing signs of stress or I feel they are getting too hot and bothered the grooming process will stop immediately/ I may adapt what they have done to suit their personal circumstances.

☀️ Your dog might have a wet belly or beard when you pick them up- this will be because they have been on a wet towel or taking advantage of the all your can drink bar 💦

☀️ WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?

👉🏼DO NOT (and I cannot stress this enough) walk your dog down to the salon. I don’t care how close you live. It is too hot and I’ll be starting on the back foot. If your dog is too hot when they arrive from walking down I will not groom them and the full charge will apply. Put them in the car with the air con up high!

👉🏼 Please let them rest before visiting and ensure they have time to digest any food. Stressed dogs are hot dogs.

👉🏼On arrival please ensure the hand over is swift and free from pandering to the dogs. This is not to be mean, but they feed off your energy and I need them as calm as possible. There will be plenty of time for cuddles this evening when it’s cooler!

Thank you for your understanding with this, I have groomed many dogs in this salon during the summer months over the years and if we all follow these points the only one sweating and getting hot will be me! ☀️
