The incubators are bursting with hatchlings every day now. Today we have Panther chameleons, banded geckos, midline knobtail geckos, fat tail geckos, eastern collared lizards, hatian anoles and the season is still only just beginning. I think its going to be a good year for us again.

Always a popular arboreal species. Our Eastern Casque Head Iguanas have started laying eggs again for this season.

The first collared lizards for the 2026 season have started hatching. These are from a colourful line of eastern collared, but this season, we also have Witchita Mountain individuals incubating. Collared lizards make a great alternative starter species suitable for both beginners and enthusiasts alike.

Today is World Chameleon Day, can we just take a minute to marvel at the diversity of different species! Give us a like or a heart on your favourite species?
Many of you know I love visiting Madagascar which is where over 50% of all the worlds chameleon species can be found and where most of these photos were taken. Unfortunately many of these species are under threat from habitat loss and other environmental pressures.
Little bit of a Chameleon pop quiz, how many of these different species can you name? Answers in the comments, lets see if we have any chameleon guru's amongst the crowd? Bonus points for guessing which 2 species shown here are not from Madagascar.

I was back up at Bangor University last night delivering a talk to the Herpetological Society about field herping in Madagascar. The students also got a preview of some of the data we have been collecting on wild panther chameleons. There is no real substitute for direct observation of wild populations when it comes to improving and amending care practices in captivity. Let's just say that our first hand empirical data does not always directly support some of the more recent fads in regards to the latest care practices that are currently circulating online.

A great start to the day with some of our desert lizard projects. A fertile clutch of 6 eggs from one of our pairs of desert iguana and a very impressive 16 eggs from one of our Ornate Uromasyx females. You will recognise the sire to this clutch as "Bruce," a particularly good example of this species whom you all see and fawn over as he lives in a display viv towards the back of the shop.

We've got some of these amazing CB hatchling red tail racers (Gonyosoma oxycephalum) now established and feeding well enough for new homes. This diurnal species makes a great display in live planted enclosures. They have a cult following and are always popular with snake enthusiasts.
