🐱Hyperthyroid Clinic🐱
What is hyperthyroidism?
Cats have two thyroid glands in their neck that are vital in regulating the body's metabolic rate. Hyperthyroidism is characterised by the overproduction of thyroid hormone, resulting in an increase in metabolic rate (over-activity in the thyroid glands).
The most common clinical signs of hyperthyroidism in cats include:
🐾Increased appetite
🐾Increased drinking
🐾Progressive weight loss
The clinic is a 30minute appointment with one of our nurses where they will run the basic checks on your pet to then decide whether they need referred to one of our vets for further tests. If tests are required they will be charged at a discounted price!
Our new hyperthyroid clinic for cats is available between the 2nd September to the 31st October.
