After spending a few months with me at home to be weaned and handled, Ellie has gone back up to the farm 🥺

She has been so lovely to have around, but she belongs with the herd, and she gets to see her mum again 🥰

She’s also learning a few manners from the mares… no room for bolshy youngsters in the herd 🙅‍♀️ It’s all part of growing up, and exactly what she needs!

Maestro didn’t care one bit and seemed quite happy to be sharing a field with Maisy and Charlie 😂

Apparently the Stallion Show wasn’t enough excitement for Maestro… Egged on by Ellie, he decided to put on another lively performance on Sunday 😂🤩

We had an absolutely fantastic day yesterday at the FPS Stallion Show, coming home with 1st in the Gelding 1, 2 & 3 years class and then going on to get Reserve Champion Gelding… still can’t quite believe it! 🥹❤️

We’re very new to the showing world, with the last person to show our ponies being my great grandfather Johnny Little. Maestro hasn’t been anywhere since the FPS Stallion Show in 2025, so before we even left home I said “if Maestro is well behaved I’ll be happy… and if we manage to get in the ring it’ll be even better!” 😆 Maestro pulled out his fanciest trot… along with a few strides of canter which we’ll have to iron out at home with a bit more practice!

One very emotional Nana and one very shellshocked me, so glad she was there to see it all ❤️ We had some absolutely lovely comments from the judge, other competitors and from ringside too, such a friendly welcoming show and so lovely meeting new likeminded people!

This little one finally has a name… ✨

Meet Guards Dawn Belle 🌄

Her name means “beautiful daybreak,” perfectly capturing the magic of her early morning arrival ✨🌸

Day to day, we’ll be calling her Belle… though “Baby Belle” has already started to stick 🧀😂

Her name also carries a bit of history. Her mother, Dolly, was named after one of the Guards original ponies bred by my great-great-grandfather. “Guards Bell” was one of his prize winning mares, and the name was passed down through her offspring, but was eventually lost along the way, so it felt only right to carry that legacy forward into a new generation.

A name rooted in the past, and a life just beginning 🥹
