Restrictions eased in the Southwest Scotland BTV zone.

From 10 September, store, fattening and non-pregnant female animals will no longer need to be vaccinated to move from the TCZ to the disease free area of Scotland. However, some breeding animals will still require vaccination and testing before leaving the zone.

There has now been a positive case of Blue Tongue found in a lamb in SW Scotland.

5 year old golden mastiff x Labrador missing from near Balcraig Moor, Whauphill, was spooked and has ran off, he was wearing the harness in the pictures. He’s new to the area, friendly but a bit shy, please call 07940483616 if you see him!

Once again we had a very successful, if tiring, day in our hospitality tent yesterday at Wigtown show. Thanks again to everyone who visited us and kept us busy, also thanks to all our hard working staff, Harry Brown, Rachel Black, Lisa McCaig, Lorraine Ashgrove and Rachel Campion for making sure everything ran smoothly. The winners of the games are:
How Many Gravy Bones- Ella Walker, with a guess of 337, correct amount was 353 1/2!

Show season is upon us with the first of the local shows this weekend at Stewartry! Time to start thinking about the arrangements for our own local show 🐄🐑🐓

Wigtown Show is 2 weeks today and Priory Vet Centre will have a stand at the show offering light refreshments to clients, friends & family ☕️🫖🍰

Whilst we are at the show the surgery will be open briefly from 8.30am - 10am. Our vets will then be available for emergency calls only for the rest of the day. Contact us on the usual number 01988 500356 ☎️
