🚨 BLUETONGUE VIRUS UPDATE 🚨

We have today received confirmation of a cow testing positive for Bluetongue virus in Cumbria. This is the closest case to Scotland so far and you can see from the map below how close this is to us in particular as the crow (or midge!) flies.
We would like to reiterate our advice to all our clients who keep cattle and/or sheep to vaccinate your stock as soon as possible.

After the 1st July, rams coming in from England for semen freezing at our Malvern centre must be PCR tested on entry and 6 days after the last collection - BEFORE FROZEN SEMEN CAN BE SHIPPED TO OTHER COMPANIES AND AB EDINBURGH.

It’s a great tool for tracking strike risk in your local area, helping you plan preventative treatments before you get a case of maggots.

Individual farm and field conditions can influence blowfly activity and result in struck sheep in high-risk fields even before the regional risk alert is high.

Consider applying preventative treatments at the earliest opportunity to beat this risk.
