What can I say… I’m totally blown away 🥹

Being nominated for Independent Pet Store of the Year right here in Northern Ireland honestly means more than I can put into words. To have moved here in November, which when I sit back and think about it, is only a short time ago, to build from the ground up, and to be welcomed and supported the way we have been… it’s emotional, if I’m honest. ❤️

When we opened our Mallusk doors, we didn’t know what to expect. We just brought the same passion, honesty and education-first approach that built Stefs Pet Pantry from a little Yorkshire raw shop into what it is today.

This isn’t some huge corporate business. It’s early mornings, late nights, freezer moves, deliveries, stock orders, cleaning, lifting boxes, problem solving, van breakdowns, paperwork, social media posts at midnight and wearing about 50 different hats all at once 🤣

But at the heart of it all is one thing, helping animals live healthier, happier lives through better nutrition and support for their owners.

To every single customer who has walked through our doors, placed an order, shared a post, recommended us to a friend, trusted our advice, travelled to visit us or simply supported our journey… thank you. This nomination belongs to ALL of you too.

Northern Ireland has welcomed us with open arms, and I genuinely couldn’t be more grateful 🫶🏻

No matter what happens next, being recognised amongst so many amazing independent businesses is something I’ll never forget. 🐾 National Pet Awards

🌿 Did you know dogs experience the world outdoors completely differently to us? 🐾
While we admire the views, dogs are reading an entire story through scent, who’s been there, what animals passed through, how old the trail is, and even how another dog may have been feeling. Incredible really 🐶👃

Days like today remind us how important it is to slow down and enjoy the simple things muddy paws, countryside walks, happy tails and good food waiting at home 💚

That’s exactly why we do what we do at Stefs Pet Pantry. Natural feeding, enrichment, chews and species-appropriate diets all help support dogs and pets, living the life they were designed for 🌱🥩🦴

Here’s to more adventures, more muddy paw prints, and more memories with the dogs that make life better 🫶🐾

Just a heartfelt thank you ❤️

Honestly, at this point I don’t even know my own name 🤣 It’s been one of those weeks for sure. You know when you think “what else could possibly happen?” … and then something else does 😅

But despite everything that keeps getting thrown at us, we keep getting back up. We keep pushing forward.

Running a small business really isn’t easy. It’s just me here in Northern Ireland whilst the rest of the team are based in Yorkshire, and every single week we’re picking, packing and delivering a huge amount of pet food across GB & NI.

Some days I’m:
📦 Packing orders
🚚 Delivery driver
📱 Answering messages
💻 Updating the website
📸 Creating social media content
🧾 Doing paperwork & accounts
📦 Managing stock & ordering
🧹 Cleaning freezers & the shop
🐾 Giving feeding advice
☎️ Taking phone calls
🛒 Serving customers
📧 Replying to emails
📋 Problem solving every five minutes
You know how the list goes…and somewhere in between all of that, trying to remember to eat and drink water 🤣

Then outside of work, I’m a dog mum to 7 and 12 stinky little weasels 🫶🏻

Truthfully, life feels extremely hard for a lot of us at the minute, and I keep seeing small businesses, especially independent pet shops and specialist stores like ours, closing their doors. It’s honestly frightening at times.

So from the bottom of my heart, thank you for choosing us. Thank you for supporting independent. Thank you for sharing our posts, recommending us to your friends, shopping with us and believing in what we do.

Because of YOU, we’ve just had our busiest month yet here in Northern Ireland ❤️

Yesterday at for The Big Dog Day Out was incredible, thank you I absolutely loved meeting everyone, chatting dogs and seeing so many lovely faces.

And this was Moss yesterday… honestly I think he’s perfectly depicting how tired I was by the end of it 😴

And we’re already on with getting ready for tomorrow, orders are being picked, packed, plus I’ve got the small job of unloading this van 👀 stock counting the remaining stock and of course putting it away again 🙈 wish me luck 🙏🏼

📣 Just a wee reminder our Mallusk branch is CLOSED tomorrow 🐾 we are down at for the Bug Dog Day Out! Tickets still available, you’ll not want to miss on all the amazing goodies (I’ve really stocked up!) we have available on Saturday at the show. Thanks to for creating such a magical experience, we can’t wait!!

If you need raw food over the weekend, make sure you call down and stock up today! ❄️🍖

Otherwise, I’ll see some of you on deliveries Tuesday 🚚 or back in store on Wednesday as normal 🫶🏻

📣 Mallusk Customer Notice 📣

I’ll be at this Saturday for the Big Dog Day Out 🐶🎉 so the Mallusk shop will be CLOSED on Saturday 30th May, as it’s just little old me running the shop 🙈

I haven’t quite mastered training the ferrets or dogs to serve customers properly yet 🤣🦦🐕

Don’t forget, it’s our LATE NIGHT SHOPPING tonight and we’re open until 7PM 🛒❄️

🗓 Friday 29th May: Open as usual 10am–5pm
🗓 Saturday 30th May: CLOSED while I’m at the event

So call down today or tomorrow, stock those freezers up and grab all your favourites before the weekend 💪🏼

Do we think Bear needs a new collar?

I’m in LOVE with the new ranges they have, from longlines to waterproof leads and grab handles, to martingale collars to leads with close control. I think my personal collection will be growing very shortly, just which colour first is the question 🙋🏼‍♀️
